and that's the only way our team can get him.

A torn achilles isn't a death sentence or anything.

I would love to make a pitch at Wes Matthews and draft per se Myles Turner's upside. Before his injury he was prolly the prototypical SG for our team with his quick trigger 3pt shooting, good defense, and ability to create his own shot. I don't think the achilles injury will make him fall off a lot but you never know. I'd take a shot in the dull light at him.

seriously? elton is huge, had taken loads more punishment across his entire body through his career at that point as well

an achilles injury is several echelon's lower than a microfracture or ACL tear.

If he were 19 ... maybe. But a guy turning 30 this fall isn't going to have the same kind of recovery. He will play, but he's never going to be the same. Like I said before he'll be 80% or maybe even 90% of the player he was before, but the injury will have a huge and lasting impact on him.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

80% or maybe even 90% of the player Wes Matthews was before is better than 100% of the SGs we've had over the past 5 or more years.

I share the same fear tho that he might not recover from that injury quite well but it's not like he depended on athleticism and that's about the main thing a achilles injury would zap from a player. We seen how Jeff Taylor returned and was just as blah as he always been and still dunking and he's in his mid 20s.

I'm with you, if you have the money you take a shot. You don't pay him what he would have made, but you pay him in between that and what you would for a guy that can shoot 40%+ from three and be an above average defender.

There isn't a lot of data on it, but I just don't see the achilles affecting his shot.

None. I think we'd have negative money because of Biz's cap hold

What happened to everyone believing Hendo would opt out not too long ago? I was hoping it would be true.

Oh I still think it is, he just asked what would happen if everyone opts in.

I think he does opt out. My opinion hasn't changed since like December when he decided to show up.

It's not like Wes was some great leaper before the injury. As long as he gets his lateral quicks back he should be fine.

I think he should opt out for himself. He can be a solid rotation player for a contending team.

I think he'd be outstanding for OKC but everything about Henderson to date suggests he's out for the biggest paycheck he can find

And that's absolutely how he should be. It's all about the money.

I can only dream that he opt out. Ain't nobody paying Hendo more than we currently are. Lol
