For such comments, we're definitely not doing any Dunleavy for Roberson deals.

That's ok, I wouldn't do it for OKC either, it was the other guy. You don't mess w/ Russ while I'm around!

Plus MDJ is a free agent, OKC can offer him a small deal and see if he bites. Oh, but wanted to ask a Bulls fan a Thibs Q, you guys think he takes an assistant job for the year or sits it out?

Now they put fake crime scenes in them (sheep's blood gets ordered in :D). Did one w/ shot up cars from the junkyard, another in the woods. Good times.

Audited some courses at U of T Mississauga some years back. Working towards FoSci now via correspondence/online. We did the maggot farm in class, and I have sme crime scene training from security, medic and firefighting work. It's fascinating, so I do a lot of self-study... And a lot of bitching st my favorite procedural shows, lol.

It really is a fun field to be in and study. I wanted to do casework but my first job was database stuff, ended up accessioning samples for 2 years and just needed to get back into a lab somewhere, so I left. I think now I'm out and just got used to regular lab jobs again.

People paint this perception of Thibs as some basketball freak that puts his entire energy into the game. If that is the case, I don't see why he wouldn't take an assistant gig simply because I don't know what he would do with himself.

Who knows, though. He may just collecting the Bulls coin whilst chilling, but I would be surprised.

Why the hell would I take an assistant job when I can wait for Byron Scott to get fired while living large on the Bulls' dime?

Thibs may love basketball but I am sure he loves free $9 mil more while he gets to chill for a year.

He gets his money regardless. For any other normal person, I would agree with this sentiment, but from what we know about Thibodeau and his personality, the guy is all hoops.

Maybe he sits out a year, but that would be weird to me. This is after all the man who broke up his relationship with his fiancé because he had no time for both a woman and coaching.

Even if that's the case I doubt his ego will let him take an assistant gig just yet. I am sure he wants to get another job and stick it to Paxon/Forman/Reinsdorf with potentially great success. If he fails in his next job then I can see him going the way of Gentry and becomes the assistant on some contender.

Yeah, kinda wondering, just b/c of the OKC staff coming together. Don't know if they'd be interested though as I don't know if he'd fit the culture, and Donovan may need help on offense more, as he's known for D. I have a hard time seeing him sit out myself from what I read.

Actually I am a retired lawyer turned History teacher, I just picked up that stuff from reading NY Times Science Friday.

I do have my EMT-Int but when I used to do it I was notorious for getting no calls except 300+ pound guys with chest pain who my paramedic would give Lasix to and then they'd pee all over the ambulance. Only did it for about a year in Elkridge (not exactly the fast lane) and retired rather than spend another day with my paramedic watching Bass Fishing Tournaments on television.

I faint at the sight of blood so..... I managed an ice cream shop while trying to put myself through college 20 years ago and a girl working for me bumped into a full-length mirror shattering and slicing her arm wide open--I'm sitting in the office preparing a deposit and hear the crash and look up to see blood spurting like a geyser. Race down there wrapping aprons around her arm thinking I'm going to have this girl die in my arms--blood everywhere. Luckily EMT heroes like tsherkin and beast got there quick and she ultimately was okay (lots of rehab as she severed tendon(s)). But ever since then the least little blood and I am instantly light-headed.

So props to you guys for doing that work.

And I'm nothing like you geniuses. I don't ever really try and follow some of the discussions you have about such things as above. But I'm a beast at trivial pursuit and crossword puzzles so if you ever need some random, worthless, trivial info I would be your man.

Prospective medical student here. No formal Physics background except Gen Physics 1&2 at university. I have a general science background, but Chemistry (mostly organic and biochem) and Psychology (cognitive and research side) are my areas of study.

I've always been super into science generally, and physics specifically. My godfather is one of the most decorated trauma surgeons in the U.S. military, and he was away most of the time but he took a definite interest in stuffing my brain. He sent me one of Brian Greene's books before I had even graduated middle school, and turned me onto a lot of science media and stuff like that. So most of what I know is second-hand knowledge I guess, but next on my reading list is one of Leonard Susskind's books, which is supposed to be a pretty technical and math-heavy tutorial, so I think that will be good. It' a hobby, I guess :D .

The idea of pursuing an advanced science degree has crossed my mind, but I think I like more applied problems and I have that unfortunate "I want to help people" gene . So yeah, Dr Spaceman will be an actual M.D. (hopefully!) sometime in the future.

My BS was in applied physics, although I haven't used or retained much of that knowledge at all. Right now I'm about to finish residency and start a one year neuroradiology fellowship, which will (hopefully) conclude a full 10 years of post undergrad education.

Good luck with the med student dream man. I'm actually applying this cycle and it's pretty nervewracking.
