I have watched Rozier play many times. He is one hell of a player. He can take anyone, one on one. He kills it on the defensive side of the ball. He was Louisville best player by far. With that said we have to be trading someone from our current back court or this is is a head scratcher. Lastly, He will be our best back court player, next year. Yes, IMO he will be better than Smart.

RHJ at 28, and we aim to be in a few years the team that's winning games 68-64.

Yeah well season tickets are on sale and Wyc is dangling the carrot in front of the horse to get some suckers to buy season tickets. The problem is selling this roster to any decent FA is going to be impossible.

So when do we sign Rondo as one of our max players?

Maybe Danny called around trying to trade up and discovered a ton of interest in Smart, and thinks other teams value him above what he's worth..

Wait, what the hell is going to Denver if WCS is staying in SAC? They've literally got nothing else to trade.

LeBron has MAYBE three great years left. His decline has already started.

I don't think it has started yet, but you'd be on the brink of being called for goaltending if you blocked that shot right now.

I think it has certainly started. His percentages dipped across the board this season and he has absolutely lost some explosiveness.

Wyc: Danny and Brad had Rozier in this range. Westbrook type speed. Probably the fastest guy in the draft.

Tried hard to move up. In answer to why a trade didn't happen: "We just about gave them the keys to the franchise in some cases." (So they did offer a lot according to Wyc, but picks are expensive now.)

Just shows that no one gives a **** about his "assets". A bunch of mid 1st rounders and 2nd rounders will never get you anything worthwhile.

Surprised to see Ainge make a comment like that though, he's clearly rattled. Realized his plan for the last 2-3 years was all for naught.

Encouraging thoughts from NBAdraft.net:

16. Terry Rozier | 6-2 | 190 | PG | Louisville | 21

Some might see this as a reach, but Rozier has lottery pick talent. He is a tough, hard-nosed player who can get into the lane seemingly at will. He doesn't always display the wisest shot selection, but some of that can be attributed to Louisville's system. He's a natural born leader and really gets after it defensively, as his explosion is not reserved for just the offensive end. He will be a terror for any opposing backcourt alongside either Avery Bradley or Marcus Smart. Tremendous pick by Boston here.

And yes, get Upshaw with one of the remaining picks.

We really have lacked guys who could beat their guy off the bounce outside of Thomas, and to an extent Turner, so that's a needed skill.

Well, they weren't able to move up. That's neither here nor there though. It's all about making a pick and taking your guy. If Terry Rozier becomes all the things that Avery Bradley is, but he can handle and get to the rim, finish and draw fouls? That's a damn good player to have.

The Celtics got more athletic and they bumped Pressey out of the rotation. They're better right away, and Rozier, unlike Portis is an elite athlete and has great upside. If he can become a knock down shooter? Sky is the limit.

It is both here and there.

That was the #1 goal tonight. They didn't get it done. Although you made clear how easy that would be for them to do.

What went wrong?

People fell in love with their selections. It happens. Always felt comfortable mining for gold in the middle of this draft and have been high on Rozier (thought he was a target at 28, so a bit surprised he went at 16). I'm a fan of the pick.

Huh. I guess you were wrong about it being easy to move up.

I'd put my signature there, but Rozier also can't finish pretty much anything at the rim and he's shorter than West. Lacks playmaking ability right now. But a solid prospect overall given his athleticism and body strength.
My problem with the pick is not as much about him, or the reach, but the fit with this team. It's not duplicating, it's triplicating.

Ohh come on. We picked Marcus Banks and Jerome Moiso.

Not only that. Most of us loved those picks at the time Before we all slink off to commit seppuku let's wait a bit to see how things pan out. Because we're wrong as often if not more than the GM's who pick these players.

I gotta see him off the dribble. If he can explode to the basket and get by people, then I will love this.
