This. Never understood that myself. Even worse it used to be 2 weeks. All things free agency should be in full force once free agency opens
I don't get the complaining. This is why the moratorium exists in the first place. These guys are making major life changing decisions. If it doesn't feel right to them at any point during the moratorium they should be able to change their minds.
Whether or not he chooses to stay or leave, the system is working as intended. Nothing is official until he signs on the dotted line.
Except most players usually wait to make the right decision and verbally agree to a team that they feel they will AGREE to sign with when July 9th hits.
