Two years back I was interviewing with multiple companies as I wanted to make a move. At the end of the day it was between company A & B. Company A gave me a offer letter right away. Company B said they are in process of sending me an offer letter.
After couple days when I still didn't receive the offer letter I called my HR rep @ Company B and said they I really like the position but I would need an offer at earliest as I already had offer from A. And I need to make a decision fast as it involved relocation and logistics. I had also informed them during the interview that I was also interviewing with Company A.
The HR rep said due to hiring VP being on vacation it is making longer than expected. About 10 days passed and I still didn't have offer letter. So I informed A that I have decided to accept their offer. Right away I also informed B about my decision. The HR rep said what a bad timing, as she was about to email the offer letter. And their total compensation was 10% better, (which I knew to begin with that this company B usually pays 10-15% better). But I said since I have already verbally committed to A, I can't back out. (I was supposed to sign finally paper work in 2-3 days). You know what she said, she is really impressed with my professionalism. And she really appreciated that I am sticking to my commitment, even if that meant they will have to scout for a another candidate going through hundreds of resumes.
In this case, it really bad on Jordan's part to even make it public that he is having second thoughts. Mavs made moves believing in Jordan's commitment. Just like Company A closed the req and informed other candidates that they have decided to hire me. If Jordan ends up going to Clippers, feel really sad for Mavs org and their fans.
Clippers as a org are also being unprofessional. They had their opportunity to recruit him. He was was playing for them. And now all of sudden try to change Jordan's decision. Doesn't matter if they didn't intiate it. Even if Jordan called Ballmer, CP3 and Rivers first, they are still persuading Jordan to backout of commitment.
Well what can you expect from a douche bag like Ballmer.
Just curious...if deandre initiated this with his agent, should the Clippers say "nah dog, stay where you are"? This situation may look unethical, but it's nothing that hasnt happened before.
