Tinman and Zboy are notorious on CF for stalking and hating on Lin 24/7, what's sad is that the site owner there is part of their clan. Just LOL at the silliness and immaturity there.

I'm guessing that CF and LG are the biggest fan sites for the Rockets and Lakers, so many fans never bothered with RealGM until now, where this place seems to be the best forum for Hornet fans. Some of them are probably troll accounts as well.....Oh my!

Note to the many new fans due to the arrival of LIn.

Everyone here is welcome provided they stick to the general philosophy of the board. This a good board, which is fairly active, moderated, with a core group of posters that have been posting here for years. There are some very smart and funny posters here.

You'll find the mods are fairly laid back and tolerant of minor bickering and such. However, we won't have much tolerance for posters who try to turn every thread into a Lin debate. We also won't have much tolerance for name calling.

There is an stickied thread that has an index of important threads. Please check that thread before creating a new thread. We like to keep new threads limited to new discussions/topics. We will usually lock or merge threads that are new versions of existing threads.

I hope the Lin fans will genuinely embrace the team as a whole, regardless to Lin's success or involvement.

Lin fans who are only here to talk about Lin and only Lin with little to no interest in the team or other players on the team should stick to this thread or find a different place for discussion.

Thanks,

on the thread name, i think it should be Super Lintendo. mainly because we traded Gerald whose thread name was "Rhymes with Nintendo" (No Hendo). we need at least one thread with a Nintendo reference IMO

Shoulda been

Lintendo: We?

Since a lot of these Lin fans are just camp followers. (not that there's anything wrong with that, I guess).

Dang right, and when they lost debates they called their fascist leader to help them out, frigging losers......

I doubt this guy is any of them! 8-)

When it comes to Lin training under head coach Steve Clifford, Cho said that he thinks that Lin's defense will improve with the "defensive-oriented" coach who has a lot of success with other point guards in the past.

Welcome Lin fans!

Gonna be super weird when their are more Uconn + Lin people than actually Hornets fans but I guess that's what you get with changing times.

It looks like this is the thread that every Lin fans introduce themselves to the true Hornets fans, so here goes nothing.

I'm a NY native and I was a big fan of the Knicks for two decades until I just couldn't stand James Dolan anymore. Patrick Ewing's final years were the last straws for me.

I was a huge fan of LJ and Mugs even while they played for the Hornets. LJ played with hearts both in CHA and NY. Mugs always fascinated me how he was able to compete against much bigger guys, he had plenty of naysayers throughout his career, but he had the last laugh with a pretty solid career.

Anyways, I had stopped watching the Knicks until Jeremy Lin came out of nowhere and I've been following his career closely ever since. I won't offend the Hornets fans by saying that I'm a true fan of the Hornets, but I don't see why I couldn't eventually become one as I continue following the team. Even when I was a huge Knick fan, I used to love watching the formerly known Seattle Supersonics and Gary Payton, so the Hornets might just become a permanent home for me.

I'm a fan of Jeremy Lin, but I'm a basketball fan first. I think team-first when I think of basketball, so hopefully I'll be part of many interesting basketball discussions in the upcoming season. lastly, I just want to add that Hornets fans are pretty chill, you guys make this forum a very nice place to hang out.

I'm a Lakers fan but I've followed Lin since his Harvard days -- I like rooting for underdogs.

His Linsanity period was awesome and I finally understood why people called Madison Square Garden the mecca of basketball. There was so much energy and noise during this period, and the fans really understood how special that moment was. You should watch the Nets game, where it all began, to see how the crowd and Lin worked off each other. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mr3P2JMcd8

Houston, despite media portrayals, was actually a fun time too. The Harden/Parsons/Lin team during the first year was run and gun and they put up a lot of points. Unfortunately, the CF site has a lot of people, including the site administrator, who really hated Lin fans and it continues to this day.

The LG site for the Lakers was much better managed and the people there seemed much more tolerant and inviting for new fans.

What I've seen so far of this Hornets site is that people are welcoming and inviting and it seems well run. I think what works is to nip hostile situations in the bud.

where do you think Jeremy Lin would rank in terms of the most popular current NBA players?

Not that high outside of his fanbase of Asians + Christians, and he has the stink of being on one of the worst Lakers team ever (tanking). The guy is legit underrated imo, but we'll see what he does on the court next season.

I don't think this has been posted before, but here are Lin stats and highlights from the two game vs the Hornets last season. Not trying to stir up trouble, but this is what Lin did vs players Hornets fans are familiar with. He did well both games.
