Since 2007. Eight years. Just watched teams before that, didn't have a club as I disliked all the EPL clubs, and didn't connect to any Italian/Spanish clubs.

I am from New England, its a blessing and curse, but we expect greatness from our sports teams. I grew up having parades all the time. I want to win. Its in my blood, regardless of where the team is from.

And yeah, no one could ever say anything kind about the Celtics. Because we are the best franchise in the league and have beaten everyone. Everyone hates us because of it. Its rough being part of such dominance and winning culture. I guess this is how Real and Yankees fans feel.

Hate on Pierce all you want. My favorite player ever, and a straight up legend, but he doesn't play for us anymore, I don't take any recent hate personally.

so do i, but it just hasn't always been like that. glad, that you didn't go with bayern though. let's be honest, that would also have been a lot more boring.

as i said, the foundation to be successful is there and i expect them to play champions league next year. and who knows, maybe they'll add another european trophy this year!

I didn't pick Dortmund myself. I was chosen. My club of fate. I knew what I had to do the moment I was asked to support the team. I never looked back after I said yes.

I love BVB so much.

**** Bayern. Would never pick a **** club like that. Boring as ****.

Also, Paul is modern version of Wilt imo. Always liked your avy. Wilt is the man.

Id be satisfied with a top 4 finish and a champions league spot for BVB this year. It might be difficult if they go far in Europa as well though.

If that huge Ramos bid finally comes from england and you buy a quality replacement like Volland/Martial, or at least both of Oulare&Zivkovic, then you're deep enough to go far in the EL and still secure a CL spot if the team takes to Tuchel like they appear to be.

EDIT:

I would be really excited if I was a BVB fan right now. I know that there were some segments of the fanbase who felt the lineup needed big changes throughout, but Tuchel seems to have had a really fantastic effect on everyone and the energy around the club without massive moves.

The massive improvement on how comfortable you are in possesion will be huge, plus the Weigl and Castro moves help ensure that you don't have to ever rely on Sven or Kehl to recycle your attacking zone possessions through even if injuries are brutal to you again. I really think the impact Klopp's cowardly reliance on them's impact on your disaster season is understated. Those guys just crippled you last year and made the forward players push too much to make things happens; since they knew a pass back to Bender/Kehl was as good as throwing the possession away anyway. So you never built any flow or comfort with the ball that encourages confidence in the final third that was lacking from everyone up front other than Auba.

I'm even curious about Schmelzer, because he has looked like a completely different player in the preseason/EL action I've seen of him since Tuchel started working with him. He's not just whipping accurate crosses into deadly areas in a way I didn't think he was capable of, he's showing a lot more confidence and skill in receiving passes/retaining possession as well. He's always had a tremendous work-rate and was smart with his offensive runs; so if he can finally consistently deliver dangerous balls in the final third, he would have a completely different level of impact. I still wish you could've/had moved for Baba or Digne, but with Dudziak having apparently gotten his head on straight you may well have that worrisome LB position as well.

Burki has already shown what an improvement he is over last season's Weidenfeller; and even Mkhitaryan is looking like the confident and majestic midfielder who set a goal scoring record in the Ukrainian PL under Tuchel. Sahin being hurt, and Ilkay/Shinji still not looking like themselves...from what I've seen...are concerns. As is your depth up front if Auba and/or Reus get hurt, but if you buy Oulare and/or Zivkovic I'll feel better about your ability to get buy with your current attacking depth...nevermind if that huge Ramos bid comes in and you buy Volland/Martial/Shaqiri/Kokorin/Draxler.

Shinji's form does worry me, because I think Miki and Reus are both more likely to shine if they don't need to play the 10 and have a skilled one alongside them; yet if Shinji faulters the only other option would be young Dudziak, pushing Ilkay forward, or maybe trying Kampl in that role (his passing was much more of a factor in his play for RedBull than it has been in Dortmund).

All in all what should be a very exciting season with some great depth in some spots (CB, DM, CM); what should be some good depth in certain spots

...Will be back to finish/edit this in a bit.

You sometimes remind me of an incorrigible do-gooder cgf. I have no idea how you can still hype yourself up for Marcel freaking Schmelzer. :dontknow:

I'm pretty sure cgf's been a happy man yesterday with FSV Frankfurt winning at BFC Dynamo.
Also Darmstadt easily beat Erndtebrück by 5-0 and Augsburg needed extra time to win 3-1 at Elversberg.

Today the following matches will be played.

Viktoria Cologne vs Union Berlin
Meppen vs FC Cologne
Hallescher FC vs Braunschweig
Stuttgarter Kickers vs Wolfsburg
Lotte vs Leverkusen
Duisburg vs Schalke
Wurzburg Kickers vs Bremen
Aue vs Furth
Bremver SV vs Frankfurt
1860 Munich vs Hoffenheim
SSV Reutlingen vs Karlsruher SC
Kiel vs Stuttgart

BTW: Give credit were it's due.
Nice choreo by St. Pauli fans during their home opener against Bielefeld two weeks ago.

Not what I meant, haha, I'll pm you.

Geez. Can't believe I said Wilt lol. Obviously meant Clyde.

Paul is definitely the modern Walt. Crazy, fly fashion sense, swag levels off the charts. Breaks fans hearts all the time and then gets them with a one liner in the post game.

Its actually Knicks fans I initially saw make the comparison, not something I came up with on my own. Wasn't referring to their skills sorry.

Two surprises so far today.

Aue beats Fürth and Viktoria Cologne beats Union Berlin 2-1, after being down all the time and with Union missing a penalty while being up 1-0.

1860 München 2-0 Hoffenheim.

That's what you can call a victory for football. Tradition beating plastic.

It's not really a surprise when we go out in the first round every year, aka why I take so much joy in seeing BFC go out early aswell  Now is when we start getting our **** together in the league with a couple of draws and an embarrassing loss; before getting a run together to end up upper-midtable/outside promotion-contenders by christmas.

...though if they replaced Duwel I would not mind, the man is just horrific at assembling a defense. In possession Union may be the most comfortable and fluid side in league 2; but we're not lethal enough for that to counteract our defensive frailty consistently enough to be real promotion candidates.

Another surprise was Reutlingen(5th division) beating Karlsruhe(2nd Bundesliga) by 3-1.

Though, all three of Reutlingen's goals came from penalties and Karlsruhe had three players sent off.

Also, it seems like HSV wants to loan Alan Halilovic of Barca.
Bayer Leverkusen is confident that they'll sign Charles Aranguiz of Internacional Porto Alegre during this transfer window.
And Augsburg has turned down a €25M offer of Chelsea for Baba and now wants €30M for the left back.

I don't really care how this one ends because they won't win the Cup anyways, but it's great to see how terrible they look. Got straight up dominated by a 4th league team for most of the game.
