it is also comical to write off teams like milwaukee cause they "finsihed 11-18" and view all their guys they lost as catasrophic. and also no much they DESTROYED us in a must win game late in the year. but then when it comes to our team everyone is primed for a career year/all-star bid or will be good because they played in the playoffs in their careers. also none of our subtractions will hurt us and we are better without anyone we lost.
if i wanted that kind of D riding slurping homer analysis id go read ND
Team Realism is set to go for the regular season!
I call 32-35 wins, just looking at this roster. Too many D-Tier players, unknowns with the rookies, and our PG platoon situation can seriously hurt us if Larkin can't step up.
Best case scenario to avoid the lottery:
-Brook plays in "Beast Lopez" mode all season long, which makes Brook an A tier player and an all star. Can it happen? Possibly. But I know better than to be optimistic when it comes to the Nets.
-Bojan makes the transition from year 1 to year 2 and becomes a consistent scorer. This will be HUGE.
-RHJ can hit the ground running and become the starting SF, and hits his 3s at a 32%-35% clip in year one to keep the defenses honest. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. His rebounding, ball handling, defense (especially in the passing lane) will all translate immediately but if he cannot hit his jumpers it will be a long season.
-Thad continues to give us good consistent play, and can maintain his 3pt shooting at above 35%. That would be critical considering none of the PGs can shoot 3s to save their lives
-Shane Larkin comes into the season with a chip on his shoulder and boosts the PG platoon with some good production. I will not hold my breath here.
-Old Man Joe accepts a bench role and becomes a killer off of the bench. He'll finish games, and he can maintain his body all season long, giving us a healthy 14-15ppg a night. This actually could have a good chance of happening.
-A light goes off in one of our young D-Tier guys and they become a reliable option. maybe thomas robinson finally gets his due? Quincy Miller explodes in training camp? This will require prayer.
I expect maximum effort from this team, but I expect the losses to mount because our lack of talent will do us in. At least we can root for these guys.
