I am not a hater - I am the one who brought up the Kim Kardhashian sex tape to make a completely different point to the one that you are making.
That people dont want to know about other people's sexual lives in the context of a rape lawsuit and allegations of drugs and gangbangs.
People are curious as a whole - and love reality shows and all of that stuff - but I dont want Derrick's life relegated to that level. It may make him more money and more marketable in OTHER areas of the economy. But it sure as **** doesnt make him a better basketball player.
Kinda like how Lamar Odom and Kris Humphries became more popular celebrities in the non-NBA world after associating themselves with the Kardashians.
World of good it did to their basketball lives.![]()
Lets not forget context here - your argument is that somehow this lawsuit NOT a big deal. It very much is.

It doesn't matter whether it's right, or wrong, or rational for them to care about knowing this information. And i can't think of any star athlete that has thrived more off of the assumption that he was different from the rest of the stars. He was sold as the humble, good kid. It's irrelevant whether people should have known or assumed differently. This isn't the image that those who have paid him massive amounts of money want out there. Not that there's any true silver lining in any of this but he is probably lucky this came out now, and not as he was just starting to blow up. He would have still gotten his money from the Bulls but i'd have to suspect it would have put a dent into the possible fortunes he's made off the court from other ventures.
I don't think that having an adventurous sex life (and I'm not sure that having an occasional threesome is all that adventurous by superstar standards) precludes him from being a humble, good kid. Assuming he did in fact do nothing criminal.

It seems that the same people that disliked Rose because he didn't return when they wanted him to, are the same people in this thread hoping that these bs allegations stick and he loses endorsement money or gets traded by the Bulls.
Let it go ... Let the hate go ... Lol

No one is in here doing that
And if you signed up in 2015, how do you know who those people are?

You do realize that Kobe did rape that woman, right?

My argument is if Rose is found not liable (I don't even think it will make it to trial), the fallout will be no big deal. The Bulls aren't going to void his NBA contract. Adidas isn't going to void his shoe contract. I would guess it isn't going to adversely affect his on-court performance.
What else is there? A few people might not buy his jersey? A few people might hold up signs at away games? He might not do Giordano's commercials for a while?
The UC is still going to be packed. His name is still going to be announced last. They're still going to chant "MVP" in the 4th quarter when he's having a great game.

Not sure how he being engaged or married factors in. I say the percentage of faithful professional NBA players is quite low, and I'd bet a large percentage of the wives are aware of this fact.

It matters in the idea that these guys have all of this money and they put it on the line for some broke-ass nitwits. The smart players would do their flings with women who have money and something to lose by coming out publicly. This just shows that Rose is just as dumb off the court as he is on the court. I say Mike Tyson his ass and give him the same judge Tyson had.

There is a 1-2% chance that this case maybe true - so there is a 1-2% chance that a devastating event might happen to my Chicago Bulls.
I am not OK with that. I am not going to rationalize that away by weird, illogical arguments about the woman's friends, her masturbatory habits, her unlocked door, her prior attemps to garner money in the lawsuit and how her lawyer at this point is a bad person.
I dont care - I care that the 1-2% chance of something bad happening DOES not occur.

Really pretty shocking and sad. While this story does sound fishy and it will play out through the legal system, in general...
Get your **** together and get educated. I feel like this thread has shown there are a lot more boys on this board than grown men.

I'm specifically referring to the crap like "Oh, ya got raped? Well, jump right up and tell the world! How could anyone wait a couple years?"
Again, these allegations could be complete garbage, but pretty sad that some are clueless to how traumatizing such a violent act is.
