Sad day this one.. We lost clearly from a not better team. We paid for our offensive drought in the 4th Q. I still can't believe it. 4 points in 8,5' in the 4th Q!!
The whole tournament was not progressing well from the moment Papanikolaou showed such a form. He became our 11th-12th player in rotation!!!

With him on normal form, Giannis would have played 15-20 as PF.
It's even more bitter that we lost against Spain. In the last 9 years we have only won once against them.
And please try to stop the antι-Greek comments. As much as I love Giannis and although he played great, I care(we Greeks care) more about the result. Giannis did some crucial mistakes on the 4th Q too. It's as if Jabari will play for the US in the future and after a disqualifying defeat, I try to put salt on a wound with my comments such why Curry or Davis didn't play him more. So I kindly ask you to **** off!

He often doesn't even think to make a move when he gets the ball at the top of the key. He could have called for a clearout or try to take his guy into the post.
That said, he was largely ignored.
It takes a bit for veteran teams to trust a 20 year old kid. I don't think he can be demanding yet unless he wants to have everyone on the team hate him.
As for this comment I agree totally. He was by far the youngest in our roster (5years from the next youngest one). It takes balls to trust the fate of the team in such an inexperienced player. But it speaks for Giannis that he has established himself as a starter in this team.
I also laugh about the comment about trusting the team on Giannis and Charalampopoulos.. 2-3 players will surely retire or won't be good enough to play next year, but the Greek team will rely in the future on Giannis, Sloukas, Mantaris, Papanikolaou, Calathes and Koufos. It's a decent core. And although we hope some youngsters(like Papagiannis and Charalabopoulos) will turn good, it's on Giannis' progress that we rely and trust our hopes to be again a top team.
No hay banda.
