Budinger is much better than cj on the break. He makes best passes on the run.

I know that we're trying to run, but honestly how many times in the 12 minutes Bud is in does he actually make those passes? 1, maybe 2 times a game? So I don't think it's that crucial to have Bud out there for that. And I know Bud has been decent from 3 at least so far, but we have plenty of guys for that imo. I'd rather have Solo crashing the glass and cutting like he did last year.

And with Solo, why not give him a shot at being the smallball guy who defends PFs like Randolph? He's never had to before and if he can guard them decently, then he's more likely to be worth keeping if he can defend 1-4 at least adequately and/or he could be better trade bait.

Overall, I get not playing guys like Young, GRIII, etc. due to the lack of experience, but Solo played 400 more minutes than anyone last year on a team that wasn't terrible (not good, but not terrible). And really, our scoring can't get much worse and we can't win while giving up 105 ppg outside of a hot shooting night from someone.

Well I'd obviously prefer we just slot Young in as the PG, so that'd solve that issue. Just absolutely hate that backcourt tandem. I know it won't happen for awhile anyways and it looks like Solo is done since we declined the option. So all a moot point really.

In pre-season, or during the regular season? I really like the idea of CJ Miles starting, but I could also bring him off the bench and just let his shooters mentality take over.

If I was pressed to answer seriously, I would say later on in the season, perhaps after the all-star break, once everybody's gotten significant time in the system and we've figured out who's real and who's not. So during the regular season. If CJ is turning in another .398 FG/.345 3P year and GRIII is able to get close to replicating his preseason production, it's automatic for me. They function very similarly and I just think the streakier player should be getting his looks bombing away on hapless benches.

Miles started this past season on a horrendous shooting slump. In October/November, he was 23/95 overall, and 9/45 from 3. The rest of the year? 306/732 overall (42%) and 145/401 from 3 (36%). I tend to assume he'll shoot at least at those levels, moreso than his horrendous October/November.

I think we're in agreement though that we see Miles/GR3 as kind of the more intriguing options at SF for this season, though.
