Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
I don't see either Cousins or Favors being available for Beal. I think we need to be realistic and look at trades like Beal + filler for Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder. But at this point, given his injury, we might be better off doing nothing and then quietly leaking our frustration with his health and lack of improvement. Drive down his free agency value so that he can be resigned for $10M a year or so.

And that was a brutal analysis, FAH1223. Thanks for posting. It really confirms my beliefs. Beal has become way too much of a ball stopper. He needs to be more willing to take the quick catch-and-shoot rather than always try to put the ball on the floor. He needs to be sent to the Greg Popovich school of basketball where you never hold the ball for more than 2 seconds and never dribble unless it's a direct line to the basket.

I agree Avery is better right now... but with regards to him specifically... Avery was pretty mediocre in every season PRIOR to this IMO. He isn't a guy I'd "covet." Crowder is a good player, seems to be an Ariza level player. I just wonder if Avery's production is more of the system they are employing in boston and everyone finally buying in, cause his massive improvement came out of no where IMO.
I actually wonder about ORL, with the Oladipo situation... I'd probably take Victor at this point with andrew nicholson.
Maybe Beal for CJ Mccollum+vonleh/ed davis.
But the latter is more likely.. we will probably hold onto him until the trade deadline and pending how he comes back will determine what is future holds. I'd probably reluctantly agree to a 13-14 million dollar extension and hope his medical issues can be resolved in the next few seasons. Just seems so strange he is getting the same injury every season. They need a permanent minutes restrictions on him it seems.

If the Wiz could get Crowder for Beal, they should just do it. Don't see why Boston would make that trade, though.

If Beal had an ugly looking jumpshot form would he still have the same reputation?

Here's a good article that explains a stress reaction.

Stress reaction aint chit. Beal has to buckle up. Greg Jennings scored a TD with a broken leg.

We paid that dumbass ross 11mill per year no way Beal gets anything less than that even with his injury/consistency issues.

Don't know what we'd get for Beal at this point. Nothing of the Cousins or Favors variety though.

You are absolutely right
Beal will command close to the max, that's the nature of the league these days. And his reputation for outweighs his production.

Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
We arent trading Beal, theres absolutely no way in hell Ted or EG would ever sign off on that. If you post on this board you should know that. He'll be resigned for the max, or close to it.
This talk about him getting 10M a year is ridiculous.

I agree that the team isn't trading Beal, but he's not getting a max offer. You don't give a guy with a history of stress injuries a contract without some form of insurance, and i'm not buying that some "dumb" gm will give him a max offer, essentially forcing the team into a "max or walk" scenario.
Just because there's going to be ass loads of money to throw around this upcoming summer doesn't mean teams are going to be liberal with their risk management assessments.
At least I hope the league/Ernie are not really this stupid.

Beal could be out for the season and we'll still max him this summer.

Before Arenas' injury, he was a top 10ish player in the league. Beal isn't even a top 10 SG. Hell, he's not a top 100 player in this league.

Oh yeah, I agree with you Nate! Arenas was probably a top 2 GOAT SG at the time.

Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
Right now I am thankful that Beal turned-down our early extension offer, I am certain it was very generous knowing Ernie. I hope Ernie let's Beal walk like Larry Hughes rather than pay him even half a Max players yearly salary.
