True...
My knock on Lillard is he is too weak on defensive end, you don't want to build a team around an all offense no defense PG

Passing on Booker is gonna haunt this franchise but we needed a more polished player who could make an impact this year on a hopeful playoff team. Frank would probably have been selected by the Pacers. He's doing much better lately.

you can't have both... Booker is projected to be a Klay Thompson talent, first of all, he has to be a little physically stronger

TJ Warren was 4-of-5 from 3pt tonight. If that dude ever finds a consistent 3pt shot, watch out, he'll be putting up 20+ on the regular.

Noah Vonleh is yet to score 10 points in a game this season despite averaging 15mpg and frequently clocking more than 20 minutes.

I'm surprised Vonleh hasn't preformed better this year. He still has sometime but the Batum deal is looking better and better. I was not a fan of it at the time.

I think we all thought Biz was capable of 7/10/1.5 if he played 30 minutes a game. I'm happy to see him succeed.

Question: With how poorly our Cs are playing would Biz be starting for us this season if we retained him. Clifford would most certainly not start him over Cody but I think a lot of us would be calling for him to play with the starters.

I do think Biz's inability to catch a ball off a PnR would hurt our 4 out system. Cody has been lacking in some areas but has shown surprising ability to catch the ball dribble and go up at the rim. Still struggles around length in that area though.

I think Clifford trusts/trusted Cody more and he would be ahead of Biz in the pecking order. If we, let's say, retain Biz (and thus probably don't sign Hansbrough) yet make all of the other moves, I have the feeling that the start of the season wouldn't be promising for Biz. It could turn into a Maxiell/Biz situation where Hawes plays over him and we become enraged about that. Hawes though is a much better player than Max.

Hawes also provides a different skill set than the comparable one of Biz/Maxie. Definitely agree he wouldn't be playing as well if he had stayed a hornet.

I've been thinking a lot about the role of a rim protecter in the scheme of our defense. We still play the Thibs drop back system which denies ball handlers the middle. This has minimized Jefferson (Cody somewhat) liability as a rim protector.

If we were to go out and sign Whiteside, which I doubt we will, would his rim protection really be a boost to our defense? It would be in comparison to Jefferson overall horrible D but it seems that unless Cliff changes up his defense a rim protector wouldn't have a great impact.

Granted Cliff is hopefully a good enough coach to make changes if our roster has dramatic change in personnel.

Any thoughts on this Lamar? I may be missing something.

1) I think we have performed well DESPITE Al's shortcomings. It has required a lot of good work by our wings and an overall understanding on what do on defense by everyone involved.

Dropping back still leaves a lot of pressure on the big as more confident drivers still can challenge him by going at him rather than taking the 15-footer they already have the chance to take. And, hey, it happened both last year and it has happened during the past few weeks as well - we certainly haven't been as consistent on defense as we were in Clifford's first year. I think that has a lot to do with our somewhat limited personnel. They can execute the strategy, however, there will be nights where a couple of more errors here and there is just enough for the opposition to go off against us.

So, yeah, I view constant dropping back as a sort of a safe strategy but not the complete answer if you don't have the best players. It can be vulnerable if good players take advantage of it. Thus I do think that a good rim protector (or just an upgrade in general, I like the switching Cody, Marv, Batum, Hairston can do) could help us.

2) I don't feel comfortable too much about this (and it's not like I'm going out on a limb by saying this) but I think the jury is still out on Whiteside's impact as a defender. He might just be a heavy blocks, yet not particularly good positioning-wise center. He has awful on/off numbers this year but that data might be skewed by the people he plays with and who plays when he sits.

Makes me sick. Why shoot the man in the kneecaps when he apparently was cooperating and gave up his gold.

Sounds like he was set up. it definitely wasn't random. So he was either set up or owed something to somebody.

Cleanthony Early's MRI results reveal no structural damage or surgery needed on shot knee, sources tell Yahoo. Clean up to avoid infection.National Writer

If you guys think Marv's fall off is bad, go check out Mirotic's stats. Really thought he'd have a big season.

A great Biyombo highlight reel.

The made free throws (currently at 67.6% for the season), the two rejected dunks, a drive for a dunk, a jumper, a hook (albeit after a travel). Usually he did only two of those in a single game and had us salivating.

I don't think Mirotic is very good. He has a lot of moves, but is a volume shooter/scorer on very poor efficiency. His November and December shooting stats are post-November 2014 Gary Neal bad. PJ Hairston bad. Post-knee surgery Kemba bad.

always been capable- but never could show it. He is going to supplant Valanciunas as the Raptors starting center as the league moves towards mobile defensive bigs. I have a feeling that Biz is really starting to shine there and make a name for himself.
