My knock on Lillard is he is too weak on defensive end, you don't want to build a team around an all offense no defense PG

Passing on Booker is gonna haunt this franchise but we needed a more polished player who could make an impact this year on a hopeful playoff team. Frank would probably have been selected by the Pacers. He's doing much better lately.

you can't have both... Booker is projected to be a Klay Thompson talent, first of all, he has to be a little physically stronger

TJ Warren was 4-of-5 from 3pt tonight. If that dude ever finds a consistent 3pt shot, watch out, he'll be putting up 20+ on the regular.

I do think Biz's inability to catch a ball off a PnR would hurt our 4 out system. Cody has been lacking in some areas but has shown surprising ability to catch the ball dribble and go up at the rim. Still struggles around length in that area though.

If we, let's say, retain Biz (and thus probably don't sign Hansbrough) yet make all of the other moves, I have the feeling that the start of the season wouldn't be promising for Biz. It could turn into a Maxiell/Biz situation where Hawes plays over him and we become enraged about that. Hawes though is a much better player than Max.

Granted Cliff is hopefully a good enough coach to make changes if our roster has dramatic change in personnel.

Any thoughts on this Lamar? I may be missing something.

1) I think we have performed well DESPITE Al's shortcomings. It has required a lot of good work by our wings and an overall understanding on what do on defense by everyone involved.

Dropping back still leaves a lot of pressure on the big as more confident drivers still can challenge him by going at him rather than taking the 15-footer they already have the chance to take. And, hey, it happened both last year and it has happened during the past few weeks as well - we certainly haven't been as consistent on defense as we were in Clifford's first year. I think that has a lot to do with our somewhat limited personnel. They can execute the strategy, however, there will be nights where a couple of more errors here and there is just enough for the opposition to go off against us.

So, yeah, I view constant dropping back as a sort of a safe strategy but not the complete answer if you don't have the best players. It can be vulnerable if good players take advantage of it. Thus I do think that a good rim protector (or just an upgrade in general, I like the switching Cody, Marv, Batum, Hairston can do) could help us.

2) I don't feel comfortable too much about this (and it's not like I'm going out on a limb by saying this) but I think the jury is still out on Whiteside's impact as a defender. He might just be a heavy blocks, yet not particularly good positioning-wise center. He has awful on/off numbers this year but that data might be skewed by the people he plays with and who plays when he sits.

Sounds like he was set up. it definitely wasn't random. So he was either set up or owed something to somebody.

The made free throws (currently at 67.6% for the season), the two rejected dunks, a drive for a dunk, a jumper, a hook (albeit after a travel). Usually he did only two of those in a single game and had us salivating.

I don't think Mirotic is very good. He has a lot of moves, but is a volume shooter/scorer on very poor efficiency. His November and December shooting stats are post-November 2014 Gary Neal bad. PJ Hairston bad. Post-knee surgery Kemba bad.

always been capable- but never could show it. He is going to supplant Valanciunas as the Raptors starting center as the league moves towards mobile defensive bigs. I have a feeling that Biz is really starting to shine there and make a name for himself.
