"Have to go", doesn't sound like you're very excited.
Hamburg is a great city though, a lot of things to do. Do you have anything special in mind? You wanna go shopping or get drunk somewhere?

I didn't mean it like that. The "have to" came more from the fact that I wasn't originally supposed to be on that trip; but since our CEO is going to be driving up from Berlin after he lands here, he wants a native speaker to make sure he gets there without any problems...thus the conveniently also-in-Berlin me getting shanghai'd into filling that role for him...
And not really looking to get sloshed, since I'm going to be driving the car he rented while he has his meetings. Though my tolerance is as strong as it's been in years, as my drinking has increased immensely with all of the good pilseners around...americans have finally learned to make some good beers, but there'll almost all IPAs/wheat-beers, while I was raised on Pils...so I'll probably have a couple.
I'm not much of a shopper; though I do still need to get a small christmas present for the girl I went to the hawks game with, and something for my not-ex, so shopping wouldn't be completely off base. Shame it's gunna be so **** cold this week, cause ideally I'd just wander around a pretty part of the city til life found something to occupy my time (maybe hit a museum if there's one that really stands out).

Reeperbahn and Millerntor...

Millerntor was already on my list of possibilities.
And I'm on too much of a hotstreak in that department to tempt fate by checking out the Reeperbahn...although I did laugh my ass off when I was in amsterdam and started following a group of drunk brits as they wandered around the redlight district, loudly cheering every guy who walked out of one of those rooms.

Jesus; that's gotta be so **** hard on the family/friends. Suicide is almost always an incredibly painful thing to do to the people who love you, and though I can see why one who's decided to take that step wouldn't want to add to the trauma by forcing their loved ones to find their body; disappearing for weeks without even leaving a letter must just make it all the more devastating.

Not that it would make this story any less tragic, but I really hope that's not what happened and that it was some sort of kidnapping gone wrong. Then at least the family would have a less painful time coming to terms with it after they've had enough time to grieve.

My heart breaks for the family Gohouri.
