Nets us a young asset and the tank rolls on.

I feel like we have to move Chandler. His effort was pretty pathetic vs. Boston. I can't imagine he's happy in a tanking scenario right now.

I'd even move him for Joakim Noah at this point.

I'm really unsure on Oubre, and I think that 3 person combo could net us more than just Oubre, who is the only real player of value in that group for a rebuild. If you all think our team is stupid, from what I read about Oubre, he has one of the lowest IQ's ever. When he interviewed with teams at the combine, he did a very poor job answering basketball X's and O's type questions.

Which big market or contending teams would be willing to give away unprotected or very minimal picks?

Lakers, Brooklyn, Miami, New York have done it recently.

If Chicago want to dump Noah and Rose, possibly them.

I know he's out. He's an expiring contract that wouldn't take minutes from our young guys. I said I'd even move him for Noah because he's not giving full effort on the defensive end and even Isaiah Thomas is beating him around the basket.

Cool snarky response though.

I was just letting you & others know he was done for the year since you made no mention of that in your post.

I mean, I could get snarky if you want...

Bulls losing Noah doesnt affect them as much.... Portis minutes simply goes up and Gibson becomes a heck of a lot more valuable for them. Gasol/Gibson/Portis becomes their rotation, they can pick up a cheap FA big.

I watch Wizards quite a lot because of Gortat. Oubre has potenatial, he's athletic, runs the floor well, seems to hit 3s at decent rate, has potential to be a good defender. It should be noted that he plays alongside one of the best pass-first PGs in the league which may him look better but he's a talented kid.

Trey Lyles having a good week.... I thought initially the Suns can get him cheap... but with his raised play... his value is up by a lot.

I would still inquire to Jazz... since Lyles is likely to be their off-the-bench big man once Favors comes back.

Yeah I posted a trade suggestion for Lyles a while ago as well, but right now I don't think he's attainable anymore. More likely the Jazz will look to move T.Booker for a shooter and slim their big man rotation down to C: Gobert/ Withey PF: Favors/Lyles.

GM Ryan McDonough determined to turn around Suns
“The first thing I do every morning is check the standings,” McDonough said. “And somehow were still [4½ games] out with a half a season to go. So we’re not waving the white flag. The main decision for us over the next five weeks between now and the trade deadline is, which way do we want to go? We’re still weighing both sides. Do we want to try to add and make a run at the playoffs? Or do we want to look longer term and maybe add a few more young guys to build with our young core?

“We’re excited about that. I guess that’s one of the silver linings any time you have injuries like this. You hate to see Eric Bledsoe out for the year, but that creates an opening for Devin Booker. Those are some organization decisions we’re having.”

He and Ainge talk weekly, according to McDonough. “We worked together for a number of years and those guys have become some of my best friends,” McDonough said. “Sometimes the calls are trade-related, sometimes the calls are social. I have a great relationship with those guys.

Someone needs to sit McD down and tell him to shut his f-ing mouth about the f-ing playoffs. Seriously it needs to stop

Yes, it's ridiculous. Check the standings every morning?! What about to just watch our games?! OMG......

It's not necessary to watch more than one **** game to know that we are a terrible team that is going nowhere this year.

One shouldn't take everything a GM says at face value. McD is talking to the fans and front offices of other teams. He's probably not revealing his honest intentions.

When your team is playing Tucker, Teletovic, disgruntled Markieff and Mr. Chandler big minutes you are not playing for the future....you are playing trying to get to the playoffs.

But they are bad enough to lose a ton of games...just that.

I think that McDonough is saying exactly what he thinks here. If we are out of the playoffs race in the next month he is gonna trade a ton of players for picks and prospects. But we have to wait..... :nonono:

I can see Sarver speaking through him. He needs to be a full-time owner for his new team in Spain.

I'm not expecting him to be totally honest and say something like: "we're awful, I want to trade everyone, and I hope we lose every game the rest of the year" but to bring up the word playoffs with how this team has played is insulting to the intelligence of the fans who are still watching this crap. And it's not like those words are tricking other front offices into thinking the suns are anything other than what they are: a crappy crappy team.

I wish he would just stick to cliche answers like "we trying to get better" and we're going to explore all opportunities to improve our team long term.

I actually wish the interviewer would have asked McD what changed from when he first got here and preached a patient and correct rebuild. Why now is it more important to chase a bottom seed playoff birth than to worry about the long term chances?

Is there any reason why OKC would not take Chandler for Kanter. He is only 23 ... so given the same 'improving youth' hall pass as distributed to Knight, Goodwin, and the rest, he should be a steal for cagey old vet on his last legs.

We're trying to sell middle-of-the-pack teams our vets so that they can get to the second round of the playoffs. This is only arguably a worthy goal for some teams. I think McD is trying to sustain the notion that winning is valuable, because it may be that some are wavering on the notion.

A few more losses, and the circumstances of other teams' changes, could result in a better payoff. But I think quite a few centers could be on the move. I, for one, think we could really use Jared Sullinger or... Enes Kanter. There, I've changed my mind again. We desperately need a natural interior scorer on this squad. I think that in his prime, Alex will be good, but never great, as an interior scorer. His long frame exposes him to an easy double team on the block. We need a thick mother****** to come in here and give our wings some relief.

There. That's my wish list. One of those two, please. Chandler and Tucker for Kanter? Yes, I say! Analysis be damned, we need BALANCE on this roster. To balance out their roster, how about we add Payne and Singler to the mix? Keef is talented and young, on a valuable contract, who plays terribly, and is therefore also on a terrible contract. So they give us one guy who is talented and young on a valuable contract, and another guy who plays terribly, and is also therefore on a terrible contract? BTW - I don't place any value on McGary at this point, and my bet is that neither does McD.

There. There's my offer. Give it to the Thunder - hopefully, these are agreeable terms.
