BigSlam wrote:I mentioned it in my Hammers post but wanted to ask the question here as well:
Can anyone remember an entire game were Kemba finished as well at the rim as well as he did last night?
Finishing on both sides of the rim. Using well timed finger rolls. Creating space with his body to protect his scoring zone. I just thought he drove so well.
It seemed like rather than playing in his 6th gear he played in his 5th gear - which gave him so much more control. He also didn't just play for contact and flail about trying to draw a foul.
Some of those passes were so nice as well.
Great game by Kemba (sans those horrible, butt puckering turn overs at the end).
Loved him hitting his FT's to ice it as well.

The only 2 players on the team with a higher fg% than Lamb are Jefferson and Zeller who score 90% of there baskets on dunks or the post. Lamb is our best shooter and its not even close and its not a sample size like Daniels. Let Daniels keep his 3pt fg% up for 2-3 months then we will have a conversation. Because his overall fg% is not even close, theres a reason Daniels been on the bench all season.
I'm not saying Daniels is a better player than Lamb but to call Lamb our best shooter is ridiculous. He is 31-122 from three this season while Daniels is 24-49. That's 73 less threes and only he's made 6 less than Lamb, if you gave Daniels a sample size of 122 threes he would make way more than 31. Troy Daniels is in the top 25 in NBA history for career 3 point %.
Daniels fg% .433
Lamb fg% .470
Lamb is a better shooter. Period.
Like I said let Daniels continue to
shoot that hot from the 3 for 3 months and then we will talk.

I came into the season thinking he maxed out as a starting PG/3rd option/secondary ballhandler on a good team. I'm starting to think he could be a 2nd option on a good team with the right setup. I still don't think you would want him running your offense as a primary ball handler, but I'm still not convinced he can't develop that aspect of his game in a year or two. Hes only 25.

They have all this young talent, yet Skiles is so only focused on trying to win at the expense of development. Meanwhile the GM has been in asset collection mode for 3/4 years and has acquired a lot of good, young players, however they do not fit together. Seems very similar to Cho and Clifford. They need to decide if they want to develop young players at the expense of some wins or they need to start using some young players to land some vets. Skiles will never agree to the first.

That leaves Lamb competing with PJ, Troy and Roberts for playing time. Now PJ should be easy to beat out for PT, but Clifford seems to love PJ, so you never know. Daniels is the best shooter on the roster, and if he becomes even remotely competent on defense, he'll be worth some minutes. Brian Roberts played better defense tonight in the 4th quarter than Lamb has played at any point during this season. Granted, its only one game and its still Roberts, but the point I'm making is the guys on the end of the bench are capable of outplaying Lamb from time to time. Lamb's spot in the rotation is not guaranteed.

Its impossible to have a reasonable basketball discussion with you and unlike others I am too lazy to even try.
