Hypothetical: Would you take the guaranteed #3 pick?

Same, gotta risk for the game changer. i haven't the college ranks too closely but is it fair to say that simmons and ingram have separated themselves from the rest of the pack?

Ingram reminds me a lot of Kevin Durant. He might not be as polished as Durant when Durant was still dominating it in Texas, but he has the similar build and length and would be perfect 2 to 3 years in the league with our young core. Perfect SF with range and can play the stretch PF when needed.

Simmons would also be good but his shot will take time to develop.

I'm interested in Dragan Bender's stock. If he has the same work ethic, it would be interesting. The difference between Zingis and Darko is personality and work ethic. If Darko had the same approach to the game as Zingis, Darko would still be in the league instead of getting knocked out in the ring.

could be a great stretch 5 for Randle pairing. I don't know how his D is like but if he can block shots on sheer height alone like Porzingis we could have a decent combo bigs. I wonder if we could trade down to get him and get something else if we did get stuck with 3rd pick. I don't like the guy currently projected at 3 (Brown), not a good shooter for a wing, just athletic. His description sounds just like Stanley Johnson and everybody all over his jock during summer league and now that ver. is no where to be seen.

Draft Express has Bender at #3 and Brown at #6 or 7. So it wouldn't surprise me if Bender goes top 3.

To me its 1. Simmons 2. Ingram 3. Bender. After that there's not many players that you could consider developing into #1 or 2 options on a contending team, which is why I'm more than comfortable delivering that Philly pick this year and keep our own for next season when the draft is much deeper.

Doesn't Bender have a problem with the buyout situation with his team in Europe? I recall reading that he won't be able to come over for at least another 2 years

Thing is with this draft is drafting Simmons kind of makes trading Randle a must right? Or do you keep both and try to play one at the 3? With Ingram he fits a need right away at the 3. So with the 3rd pick you can get someone with upside like Bender who is really starting to get some hype to watch out for him. Or Jaylen Brown who is athletic freak but needs more consistency. Hield will be a lottery pick you can book that shooting is whats in in the NBA and he can flat out shoot. So guaranteeing we get the 3rd pick atleast makes this season worth something but gambling for Simmons or Ingram could pay off bigger in long run such a tough decision.

Really most of the games I've seen he's definitely played the 4 for his team. Even so being 6'10 and the more he grows into his body and adds muscle it will be harder for him to play the 3. Im still curious about his jump shot he just never shoots and I understand he can get to the basket most of the time but that will change in the nba.

think LSU are playing him at 4 because he just kinda fits there right now (he's tall, can't shoot that great from range right now) but honestly he would kinda be wasted as a P.F, he has all the tools to be a star S.F like a Lebron or Durant (maybe not quiet as good, but pretty damn close)

Once Byron Scott is fired, that alone will boost our win total by 20. I'd still rather have this year's 5 than next year's 16th.

If Byron Scott is still the coach next year, I won't be watching any Lakers games next season so at that point it wont matter to me.
