Four questions:
What lineup do you want to see for fun?
I want to see this lineup, if we're going to suck:
Payton
Hezonja
Gordon
Frye
Dedmon
(Just for **** and giggles, but I liked the dynamic that Payton and Dedmon had early in the season. I think Frye would stretch the floor for Hezonja a lot and Gordon would be all over the place).
Who are you keeping?
AG is a no brainer for me.
Hezonja is as well for now until we really know what we have.
Payton is almost untouchable for me but if we got a really enticing offer I'd consider it.
Who can be had for the right price?
Oladipo, I'd like to keep him but if it's a crazy good deal for us, I'd go for it.
Vuc, I think has a skillset that a lot of centers don't have, but I'm not sure how it fits on this team without moving players who I think have a way higher ceiling. For a good deal, I'd trade him but other than that I'd keep him.
Who do we need to move 100%?
Tobias. I used to love Tobes, but I'm not in love with his game anymore. I don't think he is doing enough out there to justify his contract, and he seems to have hit a ceiling unless we're going to put him in an entirely different role.
Fournier. I just don't like his game as of late. I think he needs to have the ball in his hands more but I don't trust him at all as of late, let somebody else overpay.
Nicholson. This one only because I don't think we're ever going to use him and I think he has value around the league.
Shabazz, obviously.
Frye is sort of in the Nicholson category for me. I know he does good things out there but there are other things I can't get over. I feel could be really effective on a team other than ours if we can't learn how to use him.
If were going to lose then yes, but our offense sucks with Payton right now. Did Play much better than Shabazz? Skiles was trying to open up our offense with Shabazz, so I don't mind him getting burn, it actually Makes sense. Teams are backing up and and packing the paint so our offense wil continue to suck. period.
When did the team fall apart against Boston? At the start of the 4th when Payton wasn't even on the floor. We had a "spacing" backcourt with Shabazz and Fournier and they got **** destroyed. Blaming Payton's weak jumpshot for our woes is simplistic rubbish.
I'm not blaming his lack of a jumpshot for all of our woes. I've said it a million times that our roster is unbalanced. Payton. Dipo, Harris. AG, Vooch provide very little spacing so teams are crowding the paint to take away or strength. I understand that Napier gets burned on defense, but the substitution made sense considering how stagnant our offense was. Was Payton going to win the game for us?
That said, as much as people dog Vooch for not being the "defensive center" we "need" and point to all the other teams as examples, it surprises me that nobody has pointed out that all of their PG's can FLUCKING SHOOT!!
If we're going to sit here and talk about what "the recipe" for being successful is then we need to look at all the players and not glance over the ones that you personally like pretending they're flawless.
