That's surprising. It pretty much guarantees that Bosh's jersey will be retired as well.

Wow, I didn't see this one coming. I always thought Wade would be next, then Shaq etc..
I guess another jersey in the rafters (not including MJ and Marino) brings light to our first championship. Might help a bit with recruiting also.

So apparently Kyle Korver is availabe via trade ( along with Teague and Horford). Ignoring his struggles this season, do we make a play? Cavs are going for it.

Notable Stats:

This season: 9.3ppg , 42% FG, 38% 3PT, 81% FT, 2.2a, 3.5r.
Also: 34yo, $5.7 and $5.3 mil left in contract

The Atlanta Hawks are engaged in serious internal discussions ahead of the Feb. 18 trade deadline about the future direction of their team and their core players, including three All-Stars from their historic 2014-15 team: Al Horford, Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver.

According to ESPN Cleveland, the Cavaliers have "interest" in acquiring Kyle Korver.

Another thing... Since when there is ESPN Cleveland? Can the 4 letter network be more up LeBrons a$$?

Miami needs to jump on this Kyle Korver bonanza. We need 3pt shooting bad. I don't think we can trade for Teague or Horford, we'll need to wait for free agency.

I'd do it in a heart beat even though I believe that Korver is a shell of his former self and at least in my opinion he'll never return to what he was last year.

With that said it doesn't make sense for the Hawks to trade him now. They'd be selling low on him. They'd be better off keeping him. Best case he improves his value, worst case they simply eat the rest of his contract which is pretty cheap.

Hassan Whiteside's future with the Heat remains very much in question. Dwyane Wade's? Not so much.

There was a time, a couple of years ago, that Wade openly expressed curiosity about what he could command in free agency this summer, when the cap will soar from $70 million to a projected $89 million. That’s no longer the case.

Wade told me this week that he does not want to even test the free agent market and instead wants to wrap up a new deal with the Heat without the drama of last offseason, when the sides initially were far apart before agreeing on a one-year, $20 million contract.

“The whole free agency thing, I didn't want to be in it last summer; I don't want to be in it this summer,” he said. “I don't want to be on the market at all…. I’m not curious at all. I want to get to it [with the Heat]. I want to be able to sign my deal and move on and not have to deal with any rumors, any free agency, any this, any that. This is where I want to end my career. So we'll figure it out.”

Because Miami likely will be using ample cap room, the Heat cannot exceed the cap to sign Wade, meaning his salary will consume some of the $37 million Miami would have available --- a figure that would grow by nearly $6 million if Miami could somehow find a taker for Josh McRoberts without taking money back.

Though another $20 million payout isn’t expected because the Heat wants cap flexibility, Wade will command a substantial salary. He’s showing improved durability, ranks among the best in the league in clutch shooting and is 28th overall in scoring at 18.7 per game (seventh among shooting guard). Trust was restored in the Heat/Wade relationship after last spring’s temporary breakdown, and Wade fully expects to reach a new deal.

Bumping the summary post from the other thread to make a point. FiveThirtyEight.com now has us at a 44-38 finish. Losing to the Spurs and Clippers were expected by their analytics. Previously their system (CARMELO) had us at 38-44. That's progress, right?

We are 29-24. To arrive at 44-38 we need to go 15-14.

I still think we can get 47, but we need to go 18-11, which sounds impossible until you look at the remaining games. Here they are (ranked in record of opponent):

Golden State (h)
San Antonio (a)
<<<<<====== We are here
Portland (a)
Sacramento (a)
Denver (h)
New Orleans (a)
Phoenix (h)
Lakers (a)

Cleveland (h)
Toronto (a)
Boston (a) (a)
Atlanta (a)
<<<<<===== We are here
Indiana (h)
Chicago (h) (a) (h)
Detroit (h) (a)
Charlotte (h)

Washington (h)
Orlando (h) (a)
New York (a)
Milwaukee (a)
Brooklyn (h)
Philadelphia (h) (a)

In the Western Conference we play 8 games more, 2 against impossible teams and 6 against teams we should beat. In the East, we have one game with Cleveland and Toronto, two away games with Boston, 5 home & 4 away games against the pack, and then 6 games against teams that are out of contention and will play as spoilers (including Milwaukee Away again).

Towards the end of the season some of these bottom-feeders will be tanking and we play a bunch of them (New York doesn't count because they don't have a pick).

Most of the hardest games are done. Here is what was predicted before in those rosy days before the first tip-off. Do you like your guess now?

I said 52 before the season, in hindsight I overrated Hassan's impact and underrated the importance of the 3 pointers, despite being very aware they're important and that we'll struggle with making them.

I'd be happy with 47 now. That's probably a 4 seed.

I didn't have a W-L prediction but I picked us to be the 4th seed in a preview I wrote for a website. Doesn't seem to be that bad so far. I did get it all wrong for some other teams like Bulls and Wizards (Overrated them) Raptors and Celtics (Underrated them), though.

had us 45+ wins & top 4 in the East standings if healthy for the most part.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

I think he just merely blew his load last season surging for a championship & to come out of the East .........when they showed poorly in the PO's and came up short i think it completely drained his enthusiasm. I believe if he gets a new start w/ another contender it will re-charge him completely. The perception is good as it may lower his value for those wanting to sign him.

He's been a 45%+ 3pt shooter for a couple of years now. Problem is that he's 34 and coming off of ankle and elbow surgeries. Having seen him play vs us a couple of times now he clearly looks like he's physically lost a couple of steps. I don't think he'll ever get the same lift on his jump shot ever again. He'll still be a respected 3pt threat but guys like him don't just lose 11% off of their efficiency for no reason.

I didn't realize dude was 34. I still think he can get back into form, maybe not the same but still very much a threat. I'd love him to play the Ray Allen role here.

Idk bout you guys but I'm just about done with this team. Yea I will watch every game and post here like usual cuz I enjoy it.

But i am SERIOUSLY done with this team. If I had my way I would blow this bitch the F upppppp. Tired of all these fake superstars, tired of this YouTube Video Editor/coach. Tired of having so many BUMS eating up cap space.

I will watch, I expect nothing! Championship? Lmao get real. Bring down Lebron? Keep dreaming. This is a first or second round exit depending on who we are playing.

If I had it my way I would start a rebuild ASAP! Who do I keep? Justise and Whiteside.

I trade Bosh away, he has the highest value and he can bring us some young talent and some needed draft picks. I'd let Wade walk this offseason unless he agrees to a bench role.

Dragonfly? Trade his ass
Mcscrub? Trade him for a second round pick and some Nike socks.

Only guys I'm keeping is Justise and Whiteside. Everyone else bye!

Build an actual team with fitting pieces not over the hill hasbeen stars that don't fit at all. The league is shooting more threes and we have not ONE legit 3 point shooter. This entire team is built wrong from top to bottom.
