I think he shows a bunch of similarities to Love, people forget job pudgy Love was in college. I think if Elleson can put on muscle similar to Love he might even be a better rebounder, that's a big if though. Their low post game is very similar, Love was a better shooter his freshman year but Elleson is starting to shoot at a higher %. I think Elleson could very well go in the top five.
Right, there are similarities, but there are significant differences. Love's skill level was off the charts for a freshman. He wasn't just a great shooter and rebounder, he was a great outlet passer, perimeter passer, and interior passer. Every move he made on the offensive end, he was a step ahead of his opponent. And his defense was lousy. Ellenson isn't at the offensive level Love was, but he's developing into a player who should be solid defensively, imo.
I don't think at all that Love is a good comparison for Ellenson.
Ellenson is longer and weaker, better ballandler and quicker. Love was a better, more dominant post-up player and rebounder.
I don't really see any similarities other than both being white and good shooter.
Ellenson seems to me a versatile PF/combo F ala Detlef Scrempf or a better, more versatile version of Josh McRoberts.
