Plus - the Jazz would be on the hook for $15 mil of Bradley after this year as opposed to $3 mil for Burke after this year. That contract might mean the Jazz can't extend one of Hayward / Favors / Gobert / Hood, all of whom the Jazz value more highly than Bradley. Without question, Bradley is certainly a better defender and a little taller than Burke. But he's not worth the contract if he's going to play behind Exum next year anyway. Giving up on Lyles in addition to Bradley's contract ( perfectly reasonable though for the 35 mpg he's giving Boston) causes the Jazz to pass.
Not really commenting on the specifics, but I love Bradley for Utah.
Having Bradley + Exum defending Curry, Paul, Parker and Westbrook, with Gobert and Favors inside, gives Utah a chance to win a series by keeping the scores in the low 90s or even high 80s, doing what Cleveland did in the finals in the first few games. Otherwise, is there an upset out there for them?
Bradley + Exum for 48 minutes - over 7 games - harassing those guys would be serious. We saw in the Clips series that the Spurs (minus Aldridge, obviously, but with a better Green and younger TD) can be beat without Parker playing. OKC Is a 2 man team. Curry is the best player in --- don't want to derail the thread. He's good is my point. And Paul is still a great player who runs that team. You aren't shutting them down, but 30 minutes of Bradley and 18 minutes of Exum being gnats could **** one up for 3 or 4 games, and then you have a chance.
Otherwise, can Utah really think they can win a series in the next year or 3?
