More importantly, the possible opportunity cost of trading a lottery pick is much larger than that of tading Morris, Tucker, and Teletovic.

That comparison sucks.

The bolded is exactly my point. Rookies who can't make the rotation because they aren't good enough yet to overtake regular role players don't retain value. Also, McLemore may have been in a supposed bad draft (which it really wasn't--see Gobert, McCollum, etc.), but he's still every bit as highly thought of as RJ freaking Hunter, a super late first rounder in a not special draft.

How about Vonleh? How about Thomas Robinson? There are countless, and I mean countless, examples of this. You have to be living on the moon to miss them. Draft picks simply do not hold value when the guy plays 10 minutes a game in a season and shoots 33% from the field and 24.5% from 3. That scenario simply does not exist.

Yeah. You don't get it. I'm done

Yup. Exactly. RJ Hunter is a desired commodity around this league. Easily worth a late first today. You're exactly right.

Yeah. They've really messed up the draft, and they've been banking on growing their bigs so that they could trade their log jam for better value. That is always risky. I doubt they get 3rd overall pick or higher value for Okafor.

That last Miami pick could be a gem but yeah I'd do that deal. I doubt Philly would.

Bledsoe or knight and keif plus a pick or two for Okafor and Landrys contract works. Would really depend on what Philly thought of Bledsoe and knight but if they want to start winning games next year that deal makes some sense.

I don't know. The Miami picks might end up really great, so to dump them with another 1st (not that I think Cleveland's is super valuable, but it could end up with Zhou Qi or Ullis or some other useful guy), along with Goodwin who I like a lot, seems steep. I'd at least try to keep Goodwin and let them keep Stauskas if possible.

How about the same trade but instead of Stauskas we get McConnell?

This doesnt mean much though.

Morey could be offering a bag of doritos and a set of dips for both and that is technically an offer.

Suns / Rockets

Knight, Booker, Morris, Teletovic
for
Harden, D.Mo

Who says no?

I have a feeling Rockets and Morey are trying to create a new core ASAP.
Maybe they then trade Howard for Whiteside, Deng and filler.

I'd rather an MVP candidate and 70m in cap, than most rosters.

Suns say no. At least for now. Maybe over the summer this could happen, but the season is already lost.

Yeah, I know... McD and the FO would NOT jeopardize the chances at a top 3 pick...

If Rockets wants to rebuild their core, I can them giving up Harden and Howard.

If Harden can be had, the Suns may be able to entice other FAs in the off-season.

Bledsoe, Harden, Tucker (if not traded) OR Ingram, Simmons OR D.Mo, Chandler....

is a good immediate competitive team.

The thought came to me, mainly because Booker and Knight can provide depth and 3pt shooting to Morey and his system... adding in Morris and Teletovic, then Whiteside... the 3pt and drive system can work possibly.

They then make a run for Durant, as per wiretap. You have, Knight, Booker, Durant, Morris and Whiteside....

If Markieff stays, plays hard, AND we still lose....well i guess i'm fine. He can boost his value for the offseason, and we can hopefully land a top pick.

At this point, there is nothing we can do to get any better or worse.

I would however like to see Knight traded at some point (either by the deadline or the offseason). Booker has shown he will be a star, so inhibiting his growth and playing time will be a detriment. We have a decent 3 man guard rotation for the rest of the year, only boosting both Archie and Knight's value. I am for keeping Archie for the longhaul....he's shown that he can be good.

The problem with trading Tucker is that we literally have no SF's on the roster. I suppose we can play Booker/Archie/Goodwin for small ball stretches, and possibly Chandler/Len/Markieff for big man stretches.

I would only consider trading Booker if the Suns were getting back Curry or a re-signed Durant. I would not consider trading him for anyone else in the league. I am that high on him. I think he can become the best shooting guard in the league within the next few years. Not just a top shooting guard. The absolute best shooting guard in the league.

Why am I that high on him? For one, he is the third youngest player of all time to have a 30 point game. The other guys in the top five of that list are Lebron, Durant, Kobe, and Carmelo.

Booker dominated at all-star weekend. How many 19 year olds in NBA history could come in and dominate the rising stars competition like he did and then finish third in the 3 point shootout behind the two best shooters in the world in Curry and Thompson. Think about that. 19 years old and the only two people who shot better than him were the greatest pure shooter in NBA history in Curry and another one of the greatest shooters of all time in Thompson. Booker is not going anywhere.

I'm pretty high on Booker as well. If he improves his ball-handling he can become a very elite offensive weapon. Imagine if he does that and gets the green light that Curry gets? He can easily get 20-25 a game. He also has the IQ to become a better defensive player as well.

The hypocrisy of this board never ceases to amaze me. Jahil Okafor?! Are you kidding me?!

You guys are murdering Markieff for his assault case, a case where the person who got hit says Kieff didn't hit him, but you want to bring in a guy who had videos of him getting into fights on the street come out two months ago.

It's actually amazing how inconsistent you guys are. Like a bunch of crows attracted to the newest shiny object.

On top of that, Kieff isn't worth a mid round first because of his alleged transgression, but you're willing to send out MULTIPLE picks including an unprotected first for Jah?!!?

Wow.
