Maybe Karl was right about catching the Blazers. Lillard and McCollum is a really nice backcourt, peaking at right time of season and they just blew out the Warriors.

Yeah, and now it's time to worry about the next W and that most likely calls for some more adjustment. There were some good changes in this game, but at the same token there was regression as well. Time to start building on the good changes.
The ball pressure early in the clock is something we should do more of provided Rondo/Collison/Ben/Anderson can stay in front of their man.
Especially if we have WCS on the floor.

Another win another INHUMAN game. Cuz with the near 40 and 20 game, and the Kings still watch it come down to the wire.
Kings have their blueprint.

One question. Why does James Anderson play 24 minutes and Seth plays 1 minute?

Mudiay is a pretty big guard, and Anderson does a decent job pressuring the ball.

The turnover issues has been constant all season long. Can they clean that up or is it ingrained in their DNA? lol

Lets see if the Kings can handle the game-play adjustments when they play the Nuggets again at Denver.

Defense, probably?
I don't get it. Anderson is barely a NBA-level player. Supposedly, his defense is his calling card and to be honest, he isn't THAT bad on doing that but the rest of his game is pretty pathetic though, imo. He makes one of the worst TOs I've seen by the Kings.
According to Karl, Seth is the Kings' best perimeter defender but he rarely plays at all. Confusing stuff.

Re: Kings Vs Denver
Everytime he plays I saw the defensive effort from Seth and he forces opposition to make some bad choices which results in TOs or bad shot attempts and he can score unlike Anderson. The only time he played bad was his post injury. Before his post injury he was producing even in the limited minutes he got.Now I am sure he is healthy,I hope he plays more.Even in the worst case scenario it cant get worse than Anderson(for offence)and Belinelli(for defence)

Look at this way, when was the last time you said to yourself, "man, Anderson is getting killed out there by his man!". Anderson hustles on D and the more he plays him, Acy, and Willie, the better this team will be. I can't say how much better but if he says playing his better defensive players is the answer then he needs to play those 3. Curry is in a tough spot because there just isn't enough minutes at PG and playing small, as perfectly evidenced by the 2nd and 4th quarters in this game alone, means the defensive emphasis goes out the window.
On that note, I did like Willie coming off the bench more for a specific reason. That allowed the Kings to go big up front with a capable line of Willie and Cuz (Koufos and Cuz isn't capable in pick and roll defense or weak side shot blocking) when they also went small at PG/SG. Then Koufos came in and for the same reasons Wille and Koufos are a more complimentary duo than KK and Cuz. That PF spot belongs to Acy and Willie.

Yeah, and also technically had more plays called too. Rondo is responsible for almost all of Willie's points it would seem. Ben started forcing it in the 2nd half and that's not the answer. They need to call more plays for Ben if they want him to be a part of the offense, but when Cuz and Rudy are rolling like that, the reality is the others have to take a back seat. Ben then has to impact the game in a different way, not just as a scorer. He shot the ball 0 times in the first half IIRC. That's not his fault, if anything good for him just D'ing up and staying out of the way.
On the topic of play calling, and I think it was somewhat confirmed by that interview with Walberg, apparently there aren't a lot of play calls period. Remember the players complaining in the media about wanting to be coached? Yeah, it makes a ton of sense now doesn't it.

Re: Kings Vs Denver
Karl's systems may not have been distorting the image of just our best player (Cousins), second best player (Gay), it might have even been distorting the image of maybe, possibly, our third best player (Rondo).
When you see a game like this, you wonder if there was a more defensive minded coach, if Rondo's focus and the betterment of the scheme can make Rondo defensively more acceptable? His shooting is getting better..
This is probably going to be the main question for me going forward, is Rondo a fit playing more off Cousins and Gay in the half court. And with an increased detail in defense can his defense be masked?

Is Karl THAT out of touch with reality?
Blazer's record, according to Karl that "will be difficult to catch"
27 - 27
Utah's record, according to Karl that they "have to focus on"
26 - 26
Both records are virtually identical and are at .500 and yet, they are quite different according to Karl. Utah is getting healthier and gaining ground from their injury woes earlier in the season.
It's just a stupid answer to begin with. The correct response is simple - "we are focused on our schedule and winning one game at a time". In these situations its simple just ask what would Pop/Belichick say?

Pretty easy to see that the context isn't done justice with statement. But paint it how you will. The W gets us closer than an L would have. Great W!
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!
