Look, regarding Durant.. What it boils down to is: If we put him on our team with the roster we have now (along with another max/near max level player) are we better than OKC? Are we a team that can compete with CLE in the East? Do we have a chance to compete with GS deploying a roster example below:

SF: Durant/Hezonja
PF: Gordon/Ilysova
C: Vuc/Ezeli

or

PG: Payton/Jennings
SG: Derozen/Oladipo

If this was possible, could we compete with the big dogs right now? That's all that will matter to Durant in the end.

Ezeli is going to want money and to start. I dont think he comes here to be a backup

I like Parsons, but isn't Fournier our Parsons? I see no point in signing both. Assuming no trade goes down, I'd say target Conley & Horford and then resign Fournier and call it a day.

Easily a 45+ win team. Could see this team giving Cleveland fits. Now we pray that Gordon/Hezonja turn into stars.

Conley is good but why sign him?We could resign jennings

not sure the money that Jennings wants, but Conley is the better PG in my opinion. better defense, passer, very consistent. He wont give you a 50 pt game, but he will give you solid PG play every night.

and depends on how we spend the big money. But if Jennings wants to stay and signs a team friendly deal to give the team more money to spend on 2 other big names, i could be down for that. assuming he looks good thru the rest of the year.

Eh, I'll start with the Dallas Mavericks who have a maximum cap space of $57 million. I'll add more of the other teams later. While Dallas appears to have cap space, they also have numerous free agents and player options that not only reduce or negate most of that cap space but also effect the capacity of the team to look appealing to someone like Durant or any of the biggest free agents looking to win and get paid.

• Nowitzki will more than likely opt in (8.7m), that uses up least amount of cap space and he is not going anywhere.
• Williams 31 and earning 5m will almost certainly opt out to secure his last paycheck asap.
• Pachulia is having a career year and only earning $5m. He will test the market to secure his last paycheck.
• Parsons is a 50/50: if he opts in he cuts into the Dallas cap space by $16m; if he opts out his cap hold uses up $24m.

I forgot the cap will go up another 15-20M the following season so we can't really lose by matching Fournier.

O-Sen speculation has been that a portion of the 45M of cap space Orlando has is to be carved out for Fournier. In that the Magic is only to target one max-level contract.

DeRozan would be my top target. He's going to get paid very well this offseason. He's a big time talent but doesn't get the publicity he should.

He is a free throw machine, and having the best shooting season of his career despite his highest usage rate. The Tobias Harris trade makes much more sense if DeRozan is an off-season target. I think the Magic could do a lot worse.
