Personally, I don't care if some fans wear sack cloth and ashes and self flagellate after a loss. I guess folks have to do what they must to show they care. I suppose the point the "overreacting" crowd is trying to make is that, at least for them, the game is more enjoyable without going overboard emotionally. Do as you wish, but I just don't see how denigrating the team and coach actually helps. We're all disappointed with the way things have gone of late. Players need to hold up their end or eventually the team will move on from them.
I confess there are times I wish those who quit the team with every loss actually meant it.
Perhaps when the few fans speak of quitting on the team, they are implying that they quit believing the team is destined for the playoffs.
Yeah, maybe so. Expanded like that it's a reasonable question about the team and its current performance. I question that myself. If the Motiejunas thing isn't a go, we're in big trouble. Already very small at the 4, it's suddenly much worse. Harris and Marcus are best at SF. Tolliver's health is a big issue, and it was already concerning that could be an issue. We'll wish we still had Ersan to wonder at his pump faking.
Teams have figured out the Piston's MO. Their outside shooting is poor, and they're thin on the inside. The only real hope is to outrun teams, and they don't seem to have great chemistry for that game, besides it requiring great effort!?
I suppose I was a little harsh. No doubt on every score I'm an old fashioned fan. Just a guy from Michigan and the Pistons are my team. Good and bad.
Despair and singular negativism adds little to the discussion. Just saying...
