Getting huge production from Morris, as Gortat snagged 20 rebounds bodes well.

They've won seven of ten. Fresh bodies and good team chemistry might allow the Wizards to sustain playing .700 pace throughout the season.

Twenty-three games remaining would give them sixteen wins, and an Ernie-special, 45-win season.

Its refreshing to see such optimism, as I am not optimistic regarding this years team as it is constructed.
They did well against a weak team. I cant see the Wizards sustain this win-ratio. We have some better than average teams left to play.

If we do get to keep our pick from the Moris trade (seems like the magic 45-wins may get us there), and we can attribute some of our winning to Morris' influence, I will eat crow, as I have not been in favor of this trade at all.

Anyway, optimism...its a good thing.

They still need to do something about coming out flat in the 3rd quarter. That was horrible last night - and they had to summon all their energy just to beat Philly. If they keep playing so inconsistently and looking tired, they're not going to even come close to winning.

You want him to GM too; if not, I want a competent GM then I'll let him choose the next coach so they are on the same page.

Gortat and Morris were huge last night. I also thought Hickson gave good spot minutes. He's a tough rebounder. Nene has been tougher and more active on the glass lately too.

I think two moves might have fixed our huge liability on the boards such that we're at least a passable rebounding team now.

John has really been getting after it on the glass lately too.

It's going to be hard to keep bodies fresh. Temple and Dudley both look like they're wearing down. Dudley has played a ton of minutes for coming off back surgery. Otto has never played minutes like this before. Wall and Beal are constantly battling small injuries and Wall has been carrying a huge load this season. A stretch run is going to be rough, but it's doable. Keef is going to help. He's out there working hard to prove himself and his energy is a sight for sore eyes.

WANT EVEN MORE OPTIMISM?

Ty Lawson.

The SECOND he clears waivers, I think the Wizards should waive Eddie and sign Lawson for the minimum. He's a DC guy and an NCAA champion, who seems like a no brainer addition.

There's a time when I would have been very much in favor of a Lawson acquisition. Not so sure now. He's been awful this season, and apparently has a significant problem with alcohol. I think the Wiz would be better off sticking with Sessions as the backup PG .

Keep Sessions as the #2.

Acquire Lawson for the rest of this season as the third PG and let him know he's on board as mostly a practice player and emergency depth.

Make others test Lawson for compliance.
