Yeah ok that's noted but its been the arrival of the three as a trio that sprung the excitement of fans. Hes shown he can comfortably run the offense and from the first opportunity better then I believed right now. End of the day, the rest of our roster is pure trash and that's pretty widely accepted so win/loss record isn't really a concern for me right now.
I have no issue with him running the offense after seeing what we have, clearly we will have two other guards on the floor that can take turns and Jabari in iso situations I just don't believe we need a pure pg next to him given how comfortable Giannis has looked whilst being so inexperienced at the position.
Oh yeah I am totally excited about our big 3 and I'm not writing Giannis off as our starting PG by any means. When I look at the construction and fit on our team I am always focused on how it will perform in the playoffs where everything slows down into half court sets. Until Giannis can knock down jumpers him running the Point in the halfcourt is essentially an ISO and even if he were as good as Durant I wouldn't want to have to hand Durant the ball every trip down the floor and expect him to get a win. Middleton is a nice third option when he has a mismatch, and as Jabari develops I am hoping his ISOs will be our second option but in the meantime a Guard that can run the high pnr would open up the paint for Mids/Jabari/Giannis as cutters or to hit the corner 3 if their man leaves them etc. I realize that there isn't much out there right now in FA though.
