Can you believe people actually wanted that scrub to start over Marcus? He's closer to being out of the NBA than getting a starting spot

He's been disappointing but I'm going to give a couple years first before I give up on him. He's just not able to use his size as a advantage as much at this level with bigger and stronger players now.

He's kind of in no man's land at this moment. He doesn't really use his strength against 3s but can do so against 2s but can't defend either position adequately over Morris. He really isn't in any position to start over any of the starters right now, at all.

This league is filled with talented players who never get a chance or are labeled malcontents or trouble makers and never succeed. Morris is supremely talented and when combined with Harris it makes a duo that will wreck this league.whitehops wrote:since the all star break he's been averaging 16 PPG, shooting 48% from the field and 47% from downtown. even if you expand that to the new year he's shooting 45% and 39% from 3. that's a 43 game sample, which is significant.
i don't expect him to keep up his shooting since march (51% from the field, 53% from 3) but if he can keep up his shooting pace since january then he's gonna be a big factor in the playoffs for us.
for those advanced stats nuts, his TS% has been:
- 55% since january (similar to rodney hood, top 100 in the league)
- 59% since the all star break (similar to chandler parsons, top 30 in the league)
- 63% since march (similar to kevin durant, top 5 in the league*)
* i tried to find someone with similar usage but there was only durant and then a bunch of low usage, highly efficient players.
anyways, the fact that in the past month he's been so efficient (considering he takes so many jump shots) is remarkable.

See thats key with this team. This team leads the league in starters scoring in double figures by ALOT. You cannot key in on one guy. Its only going to get better, and better.Spider156 wrote:whitehops wrote:since the all star break he's been averaging 16 PPG, shooting 48% from the field and 47% from downtown. even if you expand that to the new year he's shooting 45% and 39% from 3. that's a 43 game sample, which is significant.

Lol I can't wait until teams start making game plans to slow Marcus down and that's when Jackson or maybe KCP get hot.

That's a ridiculous statement to post Maker.

That is what size going to be the ideal style of play for this team. There is no single starter on this team that is going to "take over" a game on a consistent basis. It is going to be a team effort and I hope the whole team realizes that and plays that way. And...to be honest...that is going to be the strength of this team going forward.

Stanley Johnson. It's why his development is so vital. When I watch him play I can see he can score in a hurry if he gets enough touches. He's just a rookie and he keeps making boneheaded plays. That's just experience. Give the kid a summer and watch him grow. Next season we'll see our players much improved from this season which is why it's so exciting to watch this team.
