Here's the thing there are certain facts. BC has a record. His record is there for the league to see it why he couldn't even get a job with the lowly Nets and his daddy had to hire him.

Sam Hinkie has a record. He has certain draft picks he's acquired and people who he's selected. We will judge him on that. We will not allow BC to take credit for Hinkie work. Not that it will matter anyways. Eventually the truth will come out doesn't matter if it takes him 5-6 years to squander the assets that Hinkie gave him. It will happen because at the end of the day he's terrible at his job.

Record tells you Hinkie was the GM of the worst NBA team in any period of three years. And for that historically bad record in three years He should have net us historically excellent talent back to at least make all this process to be worthwhile. So Hope both Embiid and Simmons(if we can get him) will pan out as a sixer or I don't know how some of you Hinkie die hard fans can live with that.

So because the Cubs were bad under Theo for a number of years he's an awful GM? Because the Astros were bad under Luh(can't spell his name) for a period number of years he's awful GM.

It was part of the plan Hinkie and ownership came up together. Could he have executed it better? Maybe, but I doubt it.

In his last three years in Toronto, Colangelo averaged 10 more wins a season than Hinkie's Sixers over the last three years. One guy was intentionally trying to be bad and the guy selling out to try and make the playoffs could only muster 10 more wins a year.

I'm quite disappointed with the Sixers owners.

I don't think that Colangelo is nearly as bad as Billy King. And he'll have his dad to hold his hand this time around, so the situation will probably look more like Phoenix rather than Toronto. The problem is that I think Bryan Colangelo is just not a great basketball mind. I think he's pretty shallow in his understanding what is a good basketball team. I hope this is not true, but I think he will look at the Golden State Warriors and think to himself that the Sixers also need to become a great long range shooting team because that's exciting brand of basketball and great for marketing, but he'll forget that GSW is also a great defensive team. I hope he won't trade away Okafor/Embiid/Saric/Noel/picks for the likes of Korver/R. Anderson/Beal/Belinelli.

"NYSixersFan"
yea; why would you want to be Suns east? why would you want to win 55-60 games every year? much more fun celebrating acquiring 2nd round picks...and then trading them for future 2nd round picks

Clearly you're trolling,
look....If you wanna talk at the adults table, you're gonna need to raise your hand first. Until then go back to your coloring book.

The ownership group hasn't done themselves any favors with fans by immediately naming Bryan Colangelo as GM. The same night! I respect Hinkie for sticking it to them by saying **** you, goodluck. It's even better that he left after a win.

Unfortunately, us as the fans are the ones who suffer here. Bryan Colangelo is a hack

Under this circumstance, it is clearly that the owner won't sell the franchise in the nearly future.

I can only imagine what this board will feel like if Bryan falls in love with the next Landry Fields or Jason Kapono and then overpays him in FA. Then, when D'Antoni is elevated to HC and whatever semblance of defense this teams plays goes out the window. Hell, I'm not as crushed by Hinkie's departure as I am by his replacement and the thought of who likely will be replacing Brown soon enough. 3 years may truly have been wasted beyond any speculation.

It really is the hiring of Bryan Colangelo that adds insult to injury. We all knew that Hinkie could potentially be gone. But had we actually put together a search for a competent GM replacement instead of immediately hiring the son of Jerry, this wouldn't hurt so bad. As it stands today, we are in amazing shape to have a great offseason. It's that the keys have been handed to a moron that infuriates me. All because his daddy got a gig due to pressure from the media and the league. What a joke

The Philadelphia Suns ladies and gents! Actually we'll be worse than the New York Knick version though. At best, we're a playoff team that gets ousted by the first defensive minded team we play against. We better offer a kings ransom for John Wall right now...He's be perfect under MDA.

The thought that we have another re-tread GM and not Sam makes me incredibly depressed...

Long time Sixers fan. Long time on this board. But I usually don't post (just read).

WVU, these are exactly my thoughts. Could not have said it any better.

At this time, I am really fed up with the Sixers...

this is bullsht. hasn't even been a full 3 years yet and hinkie "steps down". i thought the sixers were heading in the right direction, even with how terrible the team is now. i thought we were gonna turn the corner very soon. i'm losing a bit of faith with this move.

spikeslovechild wrote:Except he's not good at you know drafting. His drafts when he was with the raps were uneven.

He selected Bargs over LMA. Ross over Drummond. Traded Hibbert for Oneal. The only two picks he hit on really are Derozen and Jonas. Drafted TJ Tucker over Paul Millasp. Traded Goran Dragic for Giorgos Printezis

Two picks over the course of six seasons is not a great drafter. Hinkie has hit on pretty all his first round picks with the exception of Embiid which could still work out.

He doesn't have an Andrea Bargs in his resume. He also doesn't have the record of god awful trades and signings either. Hedo, Kleiza, Peja (trade), Oneal (trade), Landry, Jorge Garbajosa, Fred Jones, and he tried to trade for Steve Nash and move Lowry.

I generally agree with you, but to be fair, many GMs missed out on Drummond and Millsap. That being said, selecting Bargnani and trading away the pick that became Hibbert was bad. No excuses there.

Colangelo unintentionally laid the foundation for what the Raptors are today, but I have to stress unintentionally.

I hope for the best. As a Raps fan, I really want to see a successful 76ers team again!

Like I said last night: beg, Harris.

The FO certainly must be gauging the public reaction here, and it's not good.

Probably just there to pick up his decorative cactus, Iverson bobblehead, and single carboard box of personal belongings. He's just like me. :sigh:
