We should all be diehard Trailblazer fans on Wednesday. The optimist in me says we're in pretty good shape there. Portland probably won't be resting anyone and would rather go for the win to lock up the 5th seed. They'd much rather play the Clips in the first round over OKC. But I also know Denver might be the most wildcard team in the league so who knows..

It is Luwawu/Brice right now. If Rabb works out better then Rabb/Bembry

Rabb might well be the best of your tier 2.

If you add the Raptors multi-picks in to the equation that's half of the 1st round being dominated by only five teams... Pretty ridiculous when you think of it. There's 11 (possibly 12) teams with a 2nd Rd pick or less in this years draft.

Interesting points.

- Boston needs to consolidate it's assets to get a bigger star like maybe a Blake Griffin
- Philadelphia can keep drafting young and see the cream rise to the top and then cut the rest.
- Denver no idea where they want to go.
- Phoenix have some good pieces and a few veterans, they can continue to draft young

This draft is not that strong so I can't see too many deals. It is crazy that the management of these teams chose to stockpile draft picks to get better. It's only working for Boston. Then again giving away draft picks for veterans didn't work for Brooklyn. But having the draft this way might see some key players drop because some of these teams might not have need to draft for that position. For instance Boston (get veteran big), Philadelphia and Denver might not have been for a pf causing Bender to slip.

Good boys Kings. And God bless you Seth Curry...dude has been playing really well over the last week or so. We now have 3 teams with identical records - Milwaukee, Sacramento, Denver all with 33-48 and one final game remaining in the season. Thank Nation with the drama.

Magic 35-46

Apr 13 @Char L

...final record: 35-47 - LOCKED IN 11TH PICK (PRE LOTTO)

Bucks 33-48

Apr 13 Ind L

..final record: 33-49

Sacramento 33-48

Apr 13 @Hou L

...final record: 33-49

Denver 33-48

Apr 13 @Port L

..final record: 33-49

Knicks 32-49

Apr 12 @Ind L

..final record 32-50

With a Denver loss to Portland and a Milwaukee win against Indy - we are guaranteed at least the 9th pick.

With a Denver loss to Portland, Milwaukee loss against Indy, SAC wins one of their games, there will be a 3 way tie for 8.9.10 and coin tosses will determine the selections. ( CURRENT SITUATION)

With a Denver loss to Portland, Milwaukee win in either games, SAC wins one of their games, there will be a two way tie for 8th and 9th between Denver and Sac. - Could happen but Bucks are awful.

If Denver wins against Portland and Milwaukee loses both their games, we will get the 10th pick (assuming SAC doesn't win both games, otherwise, it would be a two way tie and a coin toss will determine 10th and 9th but SAC is playing against the Rockets who have the chance to get in the playoffs so highly unlikely.

We definitely need the Nuggets to lose against Portland. Let's hope these coin tosses go in our favour for once.

Can only squeeze in the top 3 and both denver and NY have to get in.

I'm actually pretty surprised Sacramento won another game. Should have figured though. Del saw the future and realized the Raptors would once again need a sharp shooter by the name of Curry to help us out in our time of need. Thus Seth was born.

I'm willing to be a top 5 talent drops to our laps at 9. Who is most likely to be that faller? Perhaps teams worry about Jaylen Brown's shooting stroke and he falls?

It could definitely be him. Much like Justice Winslow last year.

IMO top 6 is where the meaningful players are, outside of that it's a roll of the dice. If nobody falls out of the top 6, I say trade down or trade the pick all together. Doesn't make sense drafting more projects.

As per DraftExpress:

1)Brandon Ingram
2)Ben Simmons
3)Dragan Bender
4)Jaylen Brown
5)Kris Dunn
6)Jamal Murray
7)Buddy Hield
8)Jakob Poeltl
9)Henry Ellenson

Coming down to the wire, so far we have been pretty unlucky with the thank, lets pray to the basketball gods just this once.

Worst case 10th is actually pretty good considering how NY started the year off in the 12-14 range.

Even in the top 6 those guys are mostly projects. It's the 1 and done era where virtually everyone, even most top prospects, are still quite raw. On a playoff team there will be no more than a few guys in the entire lottery who could actually play meaningful minutes. There's no need to trade the pick just because we'd have to wait on the player.
We already have a ton of asssets that can be moved for another immediate rotation player. Patterson, Ross, Delon, Powell, 2016 Raptors 1st or 2017 Raptors 1st, Clippers 2017 1st.
Keep the pick unless a YOUNG all-star is available for it. Otherwise draft someone for the long term. Rabb or Luwawu for me.

I want 9th. Historically it's been a solid slot and we've done great with the 9th pick the two times we've had it as a franchise.

DeRozan

9th is good. Not saying there will be a T Mac, but maybe a guy around Demar's calibre at PF.

You're right that the draft isn't strong. If your point of not many deals happening holds true, I would almost wonder if that many teams had that much foresight to trade out early?

On the other hand GM's always find a way to fall in love with a player and with so many teams shut out of the draft there does seem to be an awful amount of opportunity to grab a pick. What disappoints me is that I believe the Raps likely only want to bring in one rookie and are therefore looking to move a pick. With so many picks available in the market, they are likely to come pretty cheap at the draft...

You're bang on with Boston, and in my mind are ripe to be robbed just cause they have to make a deal... They own 8 picks in the draft!! That's a pretty big consolidation, and not one that gets done in one trade I would think.

Not sure I agree with your assessment of Philly. BC is already on record as saying having too much youth is problematic. I see him trying to get Saric over this offseason and adding the lotto pick (Two Rookies added max)... I think Philly hopes their Laker pick gets deferred till next year and wouldn't doubt the two picks they have on the 20s (Miami/OKC) will be made available

Utah & Phoenix both own 4 picks... Denver, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Orlando, and Atlanta all own 3 picks... A lot of friggin' picks for some teams and a lot of twiddling thumbs in other war rooms come draft unless an explosion of activity happens. Going to be interesting, that is for sure

If a player we like doesn't slide, I like the idea of deferring the pick in a trade. Rather than trading it for another player, you trade out for multiple picks and place protections to guarantee one to be in the lotto (i.e how we traded for Lowry)...

I guarantee you Philly does NOT hope the Laker pick gets deferred!

I guarantee you that Brown and Dunn are drafted OUT of the top 5.

I guarantee you that we do NOT move up to draft 2nd or 3rd.
