Of course, this is the Wizards and EG and he could be flaying back from Cali with no deal, no Brooks and no Plan B (Horny?).

And yes, I've heard about the bad out of bounds plays and wanting to stay with a 9-10 man rotation without change. HOWEVER, Billy Donovan has been looser with his rotations, but his teams have blown countless fourth quarter leads.'

I hope Brooks rejects Ernie and goes to Houston once the Rockets are eliminated and Bickerstaff is let go.

I'd rather Houston get him than us. If there was ever a time I wanted Morey to be the ultimate ****, it would be now.

Nah, he's good. Ask the OKC board if you'd like, but we all miss him. You could do so much worse.

Seems like Wiz really want him. They are ponying up 5 years, $30-35M according to reports.

I know Jim Traber (former native of Columbia,Md, ex-Oriole) hated him. Was he overstating things or is he just better than Donovan?

Our issue is Ernie is hiring him and there's been no interviewing of other candidates like the TWolves just did.

Oh I'm quite confident he's a massive upgrade over Wittless and a good coach, but it's all about fit and need. I don't believe he's the right fit for our situation. The one flaw I keep hearing over and over, even from you guys is unimaginative. And quite frankly that scares the holy sacrament sh*t out of me. Wittman could coach defense but his offensive schemes were kindergarten. His coaching led to some of the most pitiful, eye gouging quarters of basketball you could ever imagine. Long durations of offensive futility where you literally sit on your couch in utter disbelief at what you're witnessing. We have one of the, if not the most gifted pure PG in the game, yet some of Wittman's offensive schemes involved Bradley Beal initiating the offense and having Wall play off guard!!
This was hair pulling madness because 1) Wall is terrible playing off the ball. He's not a SG and his instincts as such are non-existent and 2) While Beal can be a decent passer at times, his ball handing is rubbish and he's a turnover machine when he has the ball for any extended period of time. Yet Wittman would break out this routine seemingly on a whim which would almost always lead to a Beal turnover before any offense was even initiated. Under no circumstance on God's green earth should you be taking the ball out of Wall's hands as PG. None! Mofo broken hand and all!
This was also the coach who couldn't formulate a single play to get our best 3pt shooter open. Granted, Beal has a lot of deficiencies in that area as well, but Wittman's best solution to this was to have Gortat and Beal play this comical give and go screen at the top of the 3pt line which led to one of two things...a contested Beal mid range which he's terrible at or a turnover which is usually accented with Beal falling over and hurting himself. That was Wittman ball. So when I hear Brooks can't run an offense...I want to cry.

I'd no doubt take him over Donovan.

I'd still say there's a shot you end up w/ an assistant who can do just that, while Brooks takes care of the rest.

If Ernie thinks that hiring Brooks is going to bring Durant here, he is nuts.
Of course, I could also say that if Durant comes here because we've hired Brooks, then *Durant* is nuts!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me Teds people know that Erine is sharing an agent with Brooks? When you only interview one candidate...you are not interviewing the candidate- the candidate is interviewing you. The Wiz have all the leverage here and yet the reports are the Wiz are acting like we NEED Brooks.

Again, why do people keep putting all of this on Ernie. He's only the f-ing puppet for Ted, whose only plan is to do everything to get KD to come here. None of this coaching carousel matters if they don't improve their roster. As great as Thibs apparently was, he couldn't beat the great Randall Wittman in the playoffs. Hell, we could get the re-incarnation of Red Auerbach, Red Holtzman, Jack Ramsey, Chuck Daily and a young Phil Jackson, Lenny Wilkens and Pat Riley and people would still squash the move. I don't love it but it's definitely an upgrade if it happens, which if course, may not.

All the indications are that the Wizards have NO leverage here. Ernie and/or Ted have locked in on Brooks and will do whatever it takes to get him. Short of Ernie giving up any authority.

OMG the Wizards are a pathetic organization with no ability to remain cool during these events. Coming to Brooks like a deparate woman wanting marriage, bringing the ring AND dress and telling the guy "there is no one else" FML, Ted and Ernie are THE WORST.
Wait til FA.

Re: The Next Coach Thread
The Wiz may look desperate, because they are - to get KD in a last-ditch effort. If they wait a few more days, Houston will be out of the playoffs and they could be an option for Brooks (though I'm guessing they completely rebuild around Harden). Lakers also may dump Scott and that's always an elite job even if they are in rebuild mode.
