Is there a movement to ban Hands over at BF?

Do they ban many people over there?

Dunno, and dunno. The #BanHands hashtag appears to be a snarky political meme used by conservatives to mock progressives pushing for stricter gun safety laws. E.g., "100% of all pickpockets have hands. #BanHands."

Not sure why BF's Twitter invoked it, though.

Yes, I used the word "butt buddy" over there and was "banned" and PMed by the mod, I forget his name but he was a pussy, and was forced to read the ToS to be reinstated with the condition that the next time was permanent. This was after 1+ years of daily posting, no problems. Some people are real touchy with language.

That's how I ended up here.

You weren't thinking about Monte when you typed "butt buddy", were you?

If you were, I don't want to know or hear about it. Just sayin'

I think it's about Chris Paul and also referencing Wall's injury last year.

I like it that the first thing we thought of was a ban on hands11.

So can we assume that there's a pretty strong consensus at this point that milellie111=hands11? Are there any holdouts backing alternate theories?

I personally think the more likely scenario is that milellie copy and pasted what hands wrote. Trust me, I would much rather have them be the same person as it invokes more drama.

Their styles were just too different to be the same person. Well... maybe Siamese twins? I hadn't thought of that! But then, that would still be two people.

For the most part, before the copying and pasting, he was careful to keep the milellie111 persona pretty concise and focused on defending Ernie and Ted.

I'm skeptical that anyone would copy and paste a hands11 post other than hands11.

It is interesting that we still have a range of views on this. Looks like we'll need to crank up the investigation.

JStylo is an open source textual analysis tool that can be used for author attribution. I don't know when I might have time, but you could presumably load hands11 and milellie111 posts into it and it would give you some useful information.

That is because a lot of people didn't agree with Hands on several things.....until Millie showed up.

Hands would go from one thing to another in his posts in a pretty unconscious way. He also avoided ever making any particular prediction, because he didn't want to take the chance of being wrong. If he did make it clear that he thought something (e.g. that he disliked Oubre as our pick last June), he wouldn't own it when it was mentioned. Millie didn't care if he could be found wrong easily. He just coasted past it.

This points to the real difference: Millie liked to provoke; he wanted to provoke. Hands was altogether different -- much more on the defense. He was always surprised if people didn't see things his way.

One other clear difference: Millie always defended Randy; he was "pro" everything. Hands was very "anti" Randy.

They weren't alike, in other words, not in any way except being in Ernie's camp. Now, of course, it's always possible that a single person created these 2 personae and posted for both of them. But, you could say that about any 2 people here. Somebody capable of doing that and carrying through and being consistent and active for both of them could also create any 2 other people here. I don't take that idea seriously.

The Hands I remember made tons of predictions. So many predictions and evaluations (and many of them contradictory) that he was right often enough to crow about his hits.

Yup -- you nailed it. Crow about the random hits and forget -- or even deny! -- the myriad misses. What a guy...! I miss him.

This is probably the last i'm going to say on the subject. For the record, until absolutely contradictory evidence shows up (as in something as concrete as physical addresses), I'm in the camp that Hands made Millie as an alt account.

PIF described Millie best as "someone who constantly sought to provoke others." However, I disagree with the notion that both accounts have to share the same views. That defeats the purpose of an alt account that is made to troll an online community that you have built up tension towards. If millie and hands shared view points within 90% certainty, we wouldn't even have ever had this discussion. He would have been called out on it long ago, and both accounts would have been banned when the shoe dropped.

I said it earlier in the thread, but I'll say it again for the record.

1) Millie doesn't post on Bullets Forever.
2) Millie's post came within two hours of hands post on a weekday morning.
3) It's been nearly a month since this whole thing came to light, and Millie hasn't said one word about it despite getting derided by posters on his last post. I also find it curious that he hasn't said one thing about the moves ownership has made so far in hiring Brooks and reaching out to Satoransky given how consistent he has commented on such things over the years.

If you accept the fact that Millie's primary directive was to troll the community here, then there are two possibilities. Either Millie = Hands, or Millie deliberately set this up to invoke paranoia (The above points(1 and 2) have to come to mind here, as well as the fact that Millie would knowingly be risking ceding all further power he had in rustling posters -- Hard to take his posts with even the slightest grain of salt if you view him as a fraud).

The key question is whether hands11 is competent and disciplined enough to create and maintain a second identity, focused on trolling, that holds some opinions that are different from his main identity and (for the most part) posts in a distinct style.

If you have difficulty believing that he is that competent/disciplined, then you'll discount or try to explain away the circumstantial evidence that they are the same, summarized by Sluggerface above, which is very strong but maybe not 100% conclusive..

Kind of similar to how monte and I are the same person.
