defense and shooting...might get dangerous if they bring in Skal for a workout. He seems like the kind of guy that could make people reconsider his game-tape after watching him in a private workout setting.

How would we feel on moving our pick is Bender isn't still available for D. Favors? I know his back may be a concern, but if our medical team sign of on it, would we be happy? He is only 24 so suits out team. Not sure on his contract?

Love Favs, but if we dont part with one of KAt, Wiggs or Rubio in the package, the Jazz hang up.

I would have thought that 5 would get us pretty close, then add in Baz?
No way I would trade KAT, Wiggs or Rubio for him. Hey may be worth it, but I prefer we keep those guys.

I don't think the Jazz have any motive to trade Favors, so you'd have to blow them away with value.

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
Murray and Hield have the ability to score from anywhere on the floor. They could carry the scoring load for the 2nd unit and play with Rubio and Lavine. I prefer Hield mainly because of his experience. I'd rather add an older player to the core than another 19 year old. Also, he's constantly added to his game which shows he has a passion to be good. He'd fit in well with the current core.

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
I have concerns about Hield and Murray. Buddy is a bit undersized, he looks more like Troy Daniels, Gary Neal, Sean Kilpatrick type of player who can't impact the game on defensive end. On other hand Murray looks a bit heavy, sometimes he doesn't have explosiveness to score. I want to see results of first athletic test before deciding.

Just go best player available again, it's worked in recent drafts and when Kahn wouldn't do it in his tenure we always got screwed over.
From memory I think Wes Johnson was probably the only BPA at the time he picked, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Demarcus Cousins was the BPA over Wes Johnson. Derrick Williams was generally considered BPA in his draft.

I don't know about those comparisons, but I do wonder about the physical gifts of Murray and Hield. Do you take the more skilled player and hope their physical limitations don't hold them back or do you take the physically gifted player and hope their skill level catches up?

I think everybody gets a pass for 2011, that was a rough one. Remember how Sullinger and Perry Jones were also considered top 5 guys for much of the year - nobody knew what the hell was going on that year.

Buddy Hield is tremendously skilled and has a reputation as a tireless worker, so I'm pretty confident in him. His progression over his college career really supports that reputation as well.

We are not going to get him with #5 and Bazz.

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
This is a really difficult draft for alot of teams. Can't remember it being this hard. Lots of ? About so many players. As a team that needs shooting and defense it's hard to see that with the players we could pick. Bender gives us both but maybe not the 3 point shot yet and he will need time to get stronger. Murray gives us flexibility and shooting but how will he be on defense, ID hope he could have a career like j.j. reddick. Hield a great shooter and decent rebounder/hands for size - floats abit on D though. There's some guys in the draft I like that can play defense first and can play a role on a team that has its stars. Like luwawu and Prince even. Might Come down to the testing and interviews, most guys seem coachable. I like Dunn too, reminds me of a PG version of Dwayne wade, but he will expect minutes right away and he lacks the shot we need. Wish there could be a mashup of Dunn and hield, but that player would for sure be the #1 pick. That's why Ingram is getting considerations there because he has less flaws.

Bender is the ideal guy just needs strengthening and better positioning when rebounding. If he's available for whatever reasonable reason then we'll be taking him.
Deyonta is next up for me given his elite defensive potential and showing flashes on offense so that's an easy pick for me. Athletic Power Forward, shot blocker, quick lateral movement, and stretches the floor currently with a mid-range shot. Just gotta develop him.
If it is to be a shooting guard available be it Timothe, Hield, Murray, or Furkan then I'm not against that direction as next year's draft is super loaded with talent and abundant with Power Forwards/point guards so we can get one next year. We can also draft a shooting guard as well if we can't sign a free agent guard this year.
The other direction would be to draft Jakob Poeltl or Ivica Zubac and have Kat play Power. Go out and sign a guard or draft one next year, but that could be a fun lineup.
Those are the draft directions that I see happening. Don't see us going point guard, but Ulis is the best point for me.
I've stated my opinion on Davis a few times now, but people do talk about him and had he stayed another year he pretty much would have been a lock for top 10 and possibly top 5. It could have been a talking point just to get him to stay another year, but that's w/e given his obvious defensive talent. If he is to be that talent then it would be wise to get him this draft and let him develop under Thibs as he's a Thibs type player. He's a shy guy, but talkative on the court from what I'm reading and just listening to him in interviews.

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
I'm not into the draft enough to scout before the draft order.
I only care about the Wolves options, but right now there's too much too speculate.
Once the Wolves get their pick position, I'll start looking into possible prospects in that range (or trade options).
So glad the Wolves got the #1 pick in a no-brainer year.

What about Poeltl, while moving KAT to PF (he'd be even more dominant there, and equally impact defender)

I like Towns at Center more than I do Poeltl.
