Thats rich... You offer us spare parts for Rudy Gay and Koufos and then he counters and you say its not a serious offer? If we are dealing Gay I would first and foremost ask Jae Crowder, Boston would decline rightfully so. I would settle for Bradley or Smart and Amir for Gay and Koufos. If you don't like the value I suggest you look elsewhere for a career 19/6 guy on decent efficiency.
Well i did preface my trade, with the idea that Koufos was a bad signing and he is redundant on the kings. From reading comments on him from kings fans over the last season most question spending 10% of the cap on a player that will play 12-15 min a game. I also noted that if the kings finish late lottery next year they lose thier pick in a deeper draft to the bulls.
Bradley at 8 mill a year and the 22nd pick is a way overpay for a 30 year old Gay, and a overpaid backup center. With Gay it is even more of an overpay that he can opt out next year. I only included Koufos in the deal as I though dumping his salary would make the trading of Gay more palatable to kings fans.
Regardless how you feel about the Koufos signing it doesn't make his value go down, the Celtics are redundant this upcoming year with Thomas/Smart/Bradley/Rozier/Hunter it doesn't mean you should go giving assets away for nothing that isn't how this works.
Telling me that you are knowingly making my team worse with the intention of me keeping my pick next year when we want to make the playoffs is not helping your case. I am doing everything I can to make sure we are good enough that the Chicago pick is gone next year, I am not trading my best guys and saying "hey guys don't worry! It's May 2016 but at least we will have our draft pick in July of 2017" you can't be serious?
I put Bradley and Gay around similar value, depends what you need. Gay brings size and scoring from the 3, Bradley brings man defense from the guard. I understand if you don't want to make the trade, I don't think our teams make good trading partners but don't come ask to trade your nickels for my quarter it's just not going to happen.
Koufos could be dumped without including Gay so that isn't helping your case.
Yes Koufos could be dumped no problem, there are plenty of teams with cap space that could take him on, But don't expect a first back. The guy got very little interest in FA last year and at 8 mil I would expect there won't be teams lining up to give value.
I don't understand how you can value Gay and Bradley the same when Bradley is years younger and signed for 2 years at 8 mil per year. Gay is only locked up for one and gets paid almost twice that. I know and the celtics know that they need more scoring from the wing, That is why there is no secret that Butler at age 26 and locked up for 3 more years is their #1 trade priority.
And what diff does it make on a fan internet board. I could offer the bkn pick and Crowder it is still not going to happen, even if you would agree that it is ok by you

. I THOUGHT Jerebko, Amir (better player than Koufos and better fit for the Kings alongside Cousins and WCS), Hunter and Olynyk for one year of Gay and Koufos I think is reasonable.
You want to max wins next year, I understand that as a fan. But to pass up a top ten player for 6-8 more wins? And what if Rondo leaves, getting that extra 8 wins will be tough. Like you and other King's fans have said, the teams don't match up well from your perspective.
