"Can you and Harden play together?"
"Well I think we can we just have to put our egos to the side."

"Why don't people like you?"
"Well people saw the way I left Orlando but it pisses me off because I still have the hunger and passion to be great."

He sounded a little bit more genuine but this wasn't some ground breaking stuff to me, he has always been nice enough off the court. But when the game gets going and he starts pouting blaming everyone else, I don't want that on my team. He hasn't changed much.

You can't expect the man to just get up there and sh*t on the Rockets and Harden, there is time for that down the line when and if he leaves, to let his real feelings known. He would lose and leverage with the Rockets at at all. I thought he seemed as genuine as he could be in his current situation. Being completely honest would have been just as bad as being completely artificial. That could have gotten really really awkward quick if he got sensitive and cowarded from the answers. I promise a lot of nba superstars wouldn't have handled it as well as him, Shaq can barely take any kind of criticism at all without getting his feelings hurt. He just doesn't get grilled because he won rings. I don't think those questions were prompted either because that's not Barkley and Inside's style. All things considered he handled it as well as one could hope.

I do think Dwight lost his way in the NBA Superstar clouds even towards the end of his tenure with Orlando. I don't think he is a bad dude and I hope that was the opening of his parachute to come back to Earth last night.

As far as him coming back to Orlando again it would be cool story if he did and we made a run, but if it happens cool if not I'm cool too. Kinda in the whatever happens zone.

I agree, I only said it because people have been praising how candid and informative that interview was. Didn't really say much to me.

I saw the interview. Dude is a blowhard.

Obviously Dwight is a diva. But who the **** cares? Nearly every player is but only a handful get the face time to show it.

More importantly, needing touches isn't the same thing as getting tired of playing with the joke that is James Harden.

Dwight fills an immediate need at a time when we will struggle to find quality takers for all the cap space we have. As long as it isn't more that 3 years I say give him what he wants and run with it.

I don't love the idea, but Dwight + Parsons is a realistic scenario.

Then you trade for Teague while keeping Oladipo/Gordon/Vucevic and resign Fournier.

That might be a 50 win team as soon as next year IMO

That was an ambush but he managed.

Not sure I want him back on this team though. It just doesn't seem like he's changed much after all these years.

Teague was playing backup to Schroeder in a lot of critical playoff moments who is super similar to Payton.

I can't believe I'm typing this, but as long as he comes here with a decent 3-year deal (like most of you already mentioned) AND it doesn't stop AG's growth, then I'm all for it. Maybe move AG to the SF and play Dwight and Nik together? Can anyone see that working out for good?

Man I would love it if Chandler didn't keep hurting his knee. He was playing some of the best ball of his career before he went down again after the All-Star break. His game reminds me a lot of Turk's. 6'10 dude who can run PG and be a streaky shooter and who has real chemistry with Dwight.

If we were to sign both especially Parsons it would need to have some injury related clauses in the contract. But....

Vic
Evan/Mario
Chandler
AG
Dwight

Would be a nice squad. Vic and Chandler can split time at the PG with Chandler running it most of the time. Then if you wanted to you could move Elf and Vuc for something probably really good. Vuc would command a lot i think.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

I'm not opposed to him coming back in and of itself. But the amount of money he is going to command I don't think he is worth it. I think giving him 25-30 mil a year is going backfire in after year 2.

In the east I see that being a 50 win team potentially.

Some of the issues I see is Vucevic and Howard being counter productive for one another. I don't know how well each one of them will play if they're on the floor together. I don't know how effective Vucevic would be at the 4 position. I think Howard could potentially be a poison with this young team.

Another is I don't think gets addressed is scoring and shooting. Granted I only watched a handful of games this year but the teams lack of scoring and shooting was obvious in many games. If Payton and Gordon can improve their shooting its going to stay very crowded in the paint its going to painful watch Howard come back and shoot 45% from the free throw line.

But I guess in the end I would for it gives the magic some relevance. Since Howard was traded I've watched very few magic games. I would like to have a reason to enjoy watching magic games again. For me watching this current team play is painful.

Schroder is better than Payton right now. And is a better shooter and driver. Not sure i would call him "super similar" to Payton.

Schroder has an extra year on him and his averages are 42/32 this year. While I would say that he is a better shooter, he had the exact same concerns that Payton has/had and both have shown improvements in shooting.

All I'm saying is we have posters wanting to trade Payton for Teague, a guy who played backseat to Schroder a decent amount instead of.. you know.. letting our players develop. And yes, they are extremely similar players as far as concerns about them. Maybe not stylistically, but as far as point guard comparisons go it's a pretty close comparison. The pluses on Scroder are FT%, offensive confidence as a whole, and an extra year of experience. The rest are decently similar.

What disturbed me more than anything else was how much he still gives a damn about public perception. If he's still wondering mid-game whether he should smile or not, that's an utter lack of focus in the moment. I don't want that sort of mentality (tied to a large/lengthy contract) anywhere near my team.
