Listening to Dunn talk, the guy is very proud of who he is, and he will be the first one to say that he is a PG. Why would you put Rubio and Dunn together when you can just put Rubio or Dunn with somebody who can flat out shoot the ball?
A Rubio/Dunn backcourt would be a defensive nightmare for other teams to score on. We are capable to score plenty of points. What we need to improve is our defense.
A Rubio / Dunn backcourt would not be able to score. I think you need guards that can score much more than you need guards that can play defense. With the hand check rules the way that they are, even the best perimeter defenders can only do so much.
It's probably not a huge coincidence that the final 4 teams have Kyrie, Westbrook, Curry, and Lowry.
Well, it is very simplified vision of our needs. There are a lot of things that we need to consider: Rubio hyperactive style of play (high risk of injuries, a lot of energy spent on the floor) shooting woes, average finisher at rim, long NBA calendar with b2b games, road trips etc and Tuys is far from decent NBA player, and we have no backup for SG, we have no quality defender at SG.
I see why we can draft Dunn and successfully plug him into our team. GSW has Igoudala from the bench and it did create some tension, but winning cures all chemistry questions. This is one thing that I would like to focus on. I truly believe that if we stuck into mediocrity and losing then it will be antimodel of development because of this.
