If we get Simmons andcdecidevto kerp him:
Why don't we play Randle at SF at times? I'm surprised I'm alone in suggesting it, and nobody replies whenever I do.
Randle's quick enough on his feet to guard SFs, and has the size and strength to dominate his SF opponents on both sides of the ball. He doesn't shoot well? He will get better this summer, but even if not, he could be our own DeRozan, lol, no shot but attacking the paint with fury. Seriously, with a PF that can stretch the floor, Im convinced Julius could play the three, make it his mission to guard wings like LBJ with a strength and quickness combo they'll have to work hard against, are not used to.
With that said, Simmons at the four might just work like a charm, should he fall to two. I'd prefer Ingram from what little I've seen of them, but we don't have to trade Randle to accept Simmons. Luke would probably agree. Randle could post up most threes in the league at will. We have enough shooters in Russell, Clarkson, Williams, Young, (Conley, although in sure the Spurs will be the smart team to lick him up for years) to spread the floor enough to allow Randle to post up, get putbacks and offensive boards. On the other end, he should be tutored by a Rick Fox on one-on-one defense, as well as by Luke for team defense.
Speed wins, but so does size. I want Russell at the two, but this is a lineup that has intimidating size.
Russell
Bazemore
Randle
Simmons
Whiteside
All are quick while big. Hard to counter that size.
