you mention halting immigration....if an illegal immigrant poses a challenge to your job security than you have other issues. Free Trade? I wouldnt trust a person whose company engages in overseas sweatshops...than you go on to mention protecting middleclass and allude to Trump doing so...despite the fact he wants to deregulate Wallstreet....
Illegal immigration has a ripple effect that effects EVERYONE. I'll give you one specific example.
Without illegal immigration there's more landscaping jobs. Our legal lower class can band together and create landscaping teams and make careers out of that. No longer are illegals flooding that market and undercutting are people which makes it so employers can say 'we'll pay you 3$ an hour and if you don't want to do it, that mexican on the other corner will'. This will make it so lower class people can work their way into the middle class without forcing businesses to pay employees that aren't inherently worth it with min wage spikes. Min wage spikes have tons of negative consequences on an economy.
Then there's a ripple effect from this. If our lower class isn't flooded and they have meaningful jobs, colleges aren't over flooded and that becomes a better tool for people looking for an economic ladder up as well.
But with things like fixing illegal immigration and trade agreements, this is what we are working for. An America that runs like a well oiled machine where the bulk of Americans(lower and middle class) matter.
drive around the southeast us and if 1 out of 10 landscaping crews are run by mexicans that is a stretch. in georgia, the carolinas, florida i have seen them all and those crews with their pick up trucks hauling trailers with their landscaping gear and mowers are almost exclusively owned and operated by WHITE MEN and the next level is BLACK MEN but almost none are owned and operated by mexicans. so if those white or black men choose to pick up a mexican at the wal-mart instead of paying one of their local buddies thats on them not fuqqing obama
Dude it doesn't even matter if the landscaping example is a realistic one, you're missing the point. The same example I used happens across an infinite amount of job fields and has a ripple effect the same way.
The main point is that illegal immigration is contributing to a major glut in our lower class and illegal immigrants are the type of lower class that will work under minimum wage which leaves horrendously sh-tty conditions for our own lower class. Then our answer is to force businesses to pay high wages via min wage surge which has tons of negative long term consequences on an economy.
