The projected capspace for us will be around 38 mil give or take.
38-21(Whiteside discount) = 17 mil.
Out of the 17 mil we need to pay not only Wade but also all the rest of our signings. Think vet min players so lets give Wade 15 mil
17-15=2 mil to play with for vet min players.
But wait lets throw a dog a bone and say we magically traded McRoberts. Thats another 5.5 mil.
So let pretend magically we can spend 7.5 mil, remember Deng is going to get offers of around 15. So is Wade really going to give up say another 4.5 mil to give a contract of give or take 12 mil to Deng.
So basically
Whiteside 21 mil ( discount )
Wade from 20 mil to 10.5 mil ( massive pay cut)
Deng 12 mil but he will get better offers with more years.
The numbers are not exact but do show how unrealistic this is with math. So this begs the question why go through all this dog and pony show when it makes no sense unless people really think Wade will sign for 10.5 ( give or take ) mil coming off of a 20 mil contract. Look at Deng, do you really think he takes a 3 year 12 mil 36 mil total offer over say a 4 year 15 mil 60 Mil total? Thats 24 million dollar difference. Heck lets say Deng only gets a 3 year 15 mil offer, thats still a 9 million dollar difference... so again why are we doing this dog and pony show?
