Offer the Pelicans #9, Ross and De Colo for #6 and Asik. BAM! Instant talent upgrades for the Pelicans, we get our future starting SG or PG in Murray, and we fill the backup C position. They also get to draft Poeltl which they wanted to do anyway.
Asik kind of sucks, and he is owed about as much as Ross per year, but to get a potential star in Murray, I think we'd have to do it. Plus, with Ross gone, we can even give Murray some of his minutes in the rotation.
Extra bonus. Casey can't under play JV because he won't love Asik as much as he loves Biyombo.
Deal is off though if Hield is the one to fall to #6. They seem to love him.
Nice trade - does it pass the checker?
Salaries are only $100k apart so it should pass. Of course, they would have to be able to sign De Colo, but with all of the cap space they will have, I'm sure they could make him an offer he can't refuse.
