If you start him though, you're going to get out to an early deficit.

Lue can still probably hedge his bets by benching him and saying something like "a player's life is more important than a game" or something like that, then play him spot minutes in lineups where he can't be exposed all that much on D, or one where they just need to get the offense going to maintain a lead against the bench.

That way they can defer the decision on him. At this point, does getting a couple 3 and D wings plus a PF that's good on D to back-up LeBron's minutes there be a win for the Cavs?

Great 2nd half. He actually set up for some jumpers and made them. His actual %s this postseason aren't bad but he's been playing as though he's just awful outside the paint.

Also, is anyone else noticing how much the Warrior's are going after his dribble on drives? Like its not just his man but defenders digging in from the perimeter and even the bigs are all swiping at his handle. Its really bothering him.

I don't think there's much justification for Love to even start game 4 if he's available. I've seen enough to say that Love is a liability against the Warriors.

Really hope he comes out in game 4 and hits a few jumpers in the first quarter. Kerr doesn't seem the type to panic, but maybe he changes the defense a bit and doesn't sag off too much. Would do wonders for the entire offense.

I don't think Love coming off the bench when returning from an injury would be too big a slight on him. As for all out benching him, Cavs should still need the offensive depth. Frye, Delly, Shump have a combined 22 points in the series

We still haven't seen a series in the finals where both home teams won all its games.

Absolutely necessary 2nd half from him too. Yes, the Warriors were down 20 after 1, but it was down to 8 at the half.

Noticed that a ton - is he skilled enough to adjust, anticipate, and throw the pass the second a defender helps too far off of shooters?

That's interesting. I'm gonna assume you're right, but obviously for like 30 years there was the 2-3-2 and those middle 3 were just such a big obstacle

LOL, it wasnt even a KG-style knee flaring out screen, meanwhile Dray turns into Anderson Silva everytime he's fouled, but he somehow never does it intentionally.

I think everyone who heard that thought the same thing as he said it. When the presser was over and they kicked it back to the panel on the floor, Barkley instantly said the same thing I did. "You play with Draymond green, you shouldn't be calling anyone dirty"

How the hell was that a dirty screen?

That looked like a clean, not even that hard of a screen.

Pathetic that they are acting so whiny.

Cavs through 17 G now:

+13.72 SRS, +13.1 Offense, -1.9 Defense

117.2 ORTG, 106.8 DRTG (w/o Team TO)

Wonder if he'll do that. A couple said you could get away with the "he's not 100%" excuse/reason and it won't hurt Love's pride too much.

Irving *seemed* worse defensively than Love in the first two games, but tonight he wasn't super noticeable for me at least. I guess it's true that you can get away with hiding a wing more than a big on that end.
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

Also easier to hide 1 liability than 2, Bulls D was generally great despite Boozer.

The GOAT playoff ORTG dream is dead, lol. 2 points off of the raw ORTG, and +4 off of the vs. average DRTG one

A couple random stats....

- Lebron shot 1 for 10 in the 2nd quarter and still wound up over 50% from the floor (13/16 otherwise)

- the 78 point combined margin by the winners in the first 3 games is the most in the history of the finals per NBA TV

128.1 tonight though. Another solid game at home on Friday and they're going to be running a pretty impressive number throughout the playoffs.

Lebron somehow at 25/11/8/2/1 on 53% TS w/5.3 TO per game, ~26 PER in this series through 3 games.

Those turnovers man, ugh.

He's still got to lose the hesitation when wide open, though I guess he pulls back so that he can step in-rhythm. If they overplay the shot, then he'll have a full head of steam so I guess that's good.

Looked gassed at points though - especially since he was also playing hard on D.

I know we shouldn't look ahead, but if Love's out game 4 and they win, we could be looking at an all-timer from LeBron in game 5. We always say it with him, that the next game's the biggest of his career, but that one might really take the cake - beating GS at Oracle to setup a clincher for Cleveland.
