What did you think of his performance tonight, tone wone?

1st shot of the game Iggy stripped him while trying a turnaround in the post. 2nd time got the shot off but rimmed out. It was great sign though. He was actively looking for something outside of 4ft. Obviously, No Green meant everything was just a little bit easier...especially the pick n roll but just him just trying to be a threat outside the paint helped tremendously.

Defensively he was a monster. Just everywhere. Tons of energy. This game for me also highlighted another reason why this has been such a brutal matchup for the Cavs. With Green out, Lebron got to be the only high-end Big Man-Perimeter Player hybrid on the court. And it was absolutely devastating. You see just how big of a weapon a player who can do those things at a high level simultaneously is. GSW has a guy like that but also other versatile position-less players while Lebron seems like the only guy who fits that description for the Cavs.

Also, Kyrie is just a fabulous scorer. I mean really incredible. I bag on his approach but his shot creation ability takes a backseat to no one in the league. Now that his 3 pt shot has come back he has it all as a scorer.

That stat they showed at the beginning how Lebron has won an away playoff game in each of his last 25 (26 now) series was really incredible. Yet another incredible achievement by him.

I do wonder what Kerr's mindset is here and if adjustments are going to be made. Last year even though Lebron was putting up gaudy numbers, the jumper was still broke the entire series and he wasn't efficient.

I dunno if I keep daring him to shoot. Cleveland is probably a favourite at home and I don't want to be giving Lebron shots that he could use to get in a rhythm and then stare down the potential GOAT in game 7 that's on fire.

What Kyrie was doing isn't sustainable because it was ridiculously tough shots. Lebron was just taking what the defense was giving him for the most part like we've been begging. If he's willing to shoot/ making some uncontested jumpers, a lot of what he did is.

I wonder if they start going over the screen a bit more. Opens yourself up to Bron's playmaking but it's now 2 games that he's made his jumper. I dunno if I want to give him looks to turn that into a trend. If I was Kerr, I'd be a bit more aggressive on Bron and force Kyrie to do that again.

Lebrons case for FMVP may be even stronger than last year given every Warriors case is even weaker. Everyone is trying to act like Draymonds case gets enhanced off last night, but how can you give a guy an MVP who just went 3 games in a row of 2/8, 2/9, DNP (stupid).... Steph and iggy aren't playing as well as last year and Klay doesn't have a case either.

If the Cavs pull this off its the sweetest moment of Lebrons career and nothing comes close. We are still a bit away from this getting done, but to end the Cleveland drought, coming back from down 3-1, and against this team in particular.... And to do it after they and their families wholly disrespected the hell out of you? Man this would be unbelievable. You couldn't draw it up much better than this if you were penning fiction.

If LeBron pulled this off, I would assume that we would never hear another LeBron = not clutch, or Kobe>LeBron argument again, but then I remembered that the haters will probably bring up LeBron instigating the Green incident and downgrade him for that.

So who else in history is up there with lebron as an elimination game player? Surely statistically he must be close to the top of the list right?

Wilt Chamberlain (23 Games)

Average Estimated Defense Faced: 91.4 DRtg (-4.0)

*Assists & minutes played both missing for one (same) game, their average is from 22 games

47.1  31.1  25.7  3.4   22.9  13.6 .546  .539

If only looking at his big scoring years through 1966:

Wilt Chamberlain (12 Games)

Average Estimated Defense Faced: 87.4 DRtg (-5.7)

*Assists & minutes played both missing for one (same) game, their average is from 11 games

I don't think it'd surpass 1986 Maradonna narrative-wise simply because of Kyrie's own 41 points explosion, but it'd be one of the greatest story in sports for sure.

That said, not surprised if they get blown out by 20 in Cleveland lol

Even if the Cavs win, Warriors can't feel too bad. They can still raise banners for the rings they won after games 2 and 4.

Joking aside, Bogut likely out, meaning the death line up starts, and Lue has said he's gonna keep starting Love. So yeah.

What is the actual death lineup?

Is it:

Draymond
Iggy
Barnes
Klay
Steph

Bittersweet game for me. Hate to see my guys lose like that, especially with an anemic 4th quarter of just brick after brick from three, but Lebron was just transcendent and Kyrie put his D Wade pants on as a worthy teammate and had an equally great game.

It was weird watching Lebron this game because it was shocking how much his shooting/movement/mindset reminded me of his 2012 run. Did anybody else feel like that? He felt heavy, stroking Js, chasedown blocks. It definitely brought me back to that 2012 playoffs.

The Kevin Love situation is pretty strange to me. He certainly isn't good matchup-wise in this series and he's just looked clumsy when given his post touches. His on/off numbers always looked good on this team, but it might ring true that playing with Lebron for many of those minutes has helped his case. Despite what people say about how much he's been relegated to a role player status like Bosh before him, the dark truth is that Love just isn't a good role player it seems. If he has to be a first option and get tons of touches to be effective, then he has no place on this team. Bosh was a GREAT role player--all over the place defensively, knock down shooter and was a smart player in general. Love is a disaster defensively in the pick and roll, but can hold his own in the paint, and is streaky from three. He just doesn't seem to scale down very well. His stock is pretty low, though, and Irving's must be at an all time high, so I wonder if making Love option #2 is helpful while trading Kyrie is the smart choice in the off season. I don't feel like I know yet.
