N82WILL wrote:And I wish people stop saying Hassan won't make it without Riley/HEAT org. Ask yourself this? In this point in time with Riley getting older and Wade's play on the decline, will the HEAT survive without Hassan? All teams have cap space so it's an level playing field now. I hope for the best and that he's here in Miami long term, considering I'm going to be in Miami a lot in the coming years so I would love to continue to see him dominate in a HEAT uniform.

No doubt we will survive without Hassan. We get the ability to use the cap space to go after other FAs & then get even more next year. I he does leave, we might end returning mostly the same line-up with a stop-gap C, or two. But we will be fine.

Maybe we become first round fodder next year, then head into the 2017 FA bonanza with 2 max slots. Wade will be willing to take a big cut, because we just gave him a huge 1-year contract.

The future is fine, clarity on Bosh is more important to the FA market for us than Hassan. And I love Hassan & don't want to see him anywhere else.

Just following Whiteside on snapchat..he definitely loves Miami, so I am sure if we lose him it will be our fault. Not many people can steal him from us

If the Heat keep Wade and Hassan around 30 mill combined. Leaving 12 mill to fill in the blanks will be very manageable.

I think people are over exaggerating the pay increase. Some players will get overpaid yes, but I don't see every single player will be over valued. I'm hoping most owners are smart enough.

I feel like some of you just want him to get Max and will be disappointed if he doesn't

logic contradiction - if every single player is "overpaid" or "over valued" then non of them are. Their value is relative to their peers and the market, they have no "objective" value.

I think that's because if he doesn't get the max here it could mean he's playing elsewhere....just a thought

It is important that Hassan gets max/near max in Miami to ensure that his role with the Heat will increase his usage on offense. Last season Hassan Whiteside was benched for inferior players and underutilized on offense. Giving him the max will cancel all of that nonsense out.

Max money doesn't ensure anything. If Hassan is our best player he'll be on the court and have a bigger role. If not his role would be the same.

You are talking net worth value. If we are going by that, he is not making the Max right now she currently he not worth the MAX lol.

What have you seen from owner and gm that makes you think that? People will get paid. Look the Timber Wolves with Thibs running the show may easily throw Wade a max 2 year deal if they cant get Butler because it wont have any impact on them long term. Its going to be an entertaining offseason for sure.

I don't think the Wolves would be the team to do that, but I could see other teams maybe doing it. Wade would be an odd fit when they already have other high-usage players who don't shoot much from outside.

Actually over the recent years teams have been mindful of over paying players. One team is your truly Miami Heat. Amazingly it's been the Knicks who for years ruined their franchise luring players by overpaying them. In the past yes most teams overpaid and we're crippled for years. Bucks were one team that screwed the franchise because they overpaid. Pat talked about this, insinuated Brian Grant's contract how he will not make that mistake again. How Max deals will only be for Stars for now on. He has followed that plan since.

A team would have to first get a meeting with D-Wade to even throw him any money. Chances of that are slim unless he lets it known he's looking elsewhere which once again chances are slim to none.
