Actually I think the bigger thing is that people know that whoever we pick will impact the other moves we make, and waiting to commit keeps teams in the dark there.
The less commited we are, so are they. And we tend to not overvalue things when we are less committed/focused (nudge in behavioral economics). Easier for us to trade with them, while also allows us to make better decisions.
And how exactly are the Sixers messing with the Lakers heads? You take Simmons we take Ingram, you take Ingram we take Simmons as easy as that LOL! Lakers are in a sweet spot anyway you look at it, we are glad to keep our pick, we stayed in the #2 spot in a two top player draft... it's a win win for LA.
