I wonder if he was never really 240?
-latest mock draft from Givony2. L.A. Lakers
Brandon Ingram | SF | Duke
Freshman | 18 | 6-9, 196
Insider info: In a draft many consider to have a significant dropoff after the second pick, the Lakers will be happy to "settle" for whomever the Sixers pass. Ingram is the player the Lakers would have targeted at No. 1 had they won the lottery, sources told The Vertical. He is a perfect fit for their roster and should generate a great deal of excitement about the future

Lol. Like anyone really believes the Lakers would have taken Ingram 1st if they had the top pick. The lengths people go to try to talk up a player is embarrassing.

He definitely looks bulkier and more ripped.
If I had to guess, he was slightly over 230 as a freshman with a tiny bit of flab. He shredded the excess body fat and gained additional bulk. He's probably slightly over 240 now.
Simmons is a big guy, but probably not 255-260 pounds big.
Once his traps, shoulders and chest fill out, he's going to be monstrous, though. He probably can carry a legitimate lean 250+ on his frame. Like prime LeBron.

Jonathan Givony is going to look like a fool for ranking Ingram above Simmons in about 5 months.
I personally think he has some kind of agenda, like how Woj demands info and access from players/agents or trashes them if they don't play along.
Simmons and/or Rich Paul must have blown him off, so he's been on a campaign for awhile now to trash Simmons.

Seriously.
Of course they put the word out that they would have preferred Ingram now.
Still, I believe all of the BS about Ingram underwhelming in workouts isn't a big deal.
The Lakers should be thrilled to get him at 2, as we would have been thrilled to get him at 2.
