Noah was in high school 20 hours ago? Sounds creepy considering how old he is.

On another note, Indy will be a tough out next season, they acquire Young and Teague. They will be tough. Still not good enough to beat Cleveland but tough.

Businesses owned by Prokhorov, owner of U.S. basketball team the Brooklyn Nets, have come under intense official scrutiny in the past few weeks, with officials in ski masks searching some of their offices in Moscow in April as part of a tax fraud investigation. Another of Prokhorov’s assets, the RBC media holding, has reported on the inner circle of Russian President Vladimir Putin and their financial interests – a taboo subject for much of Russia’s media. The Kremlin denies that the investigation is politically-motivated. 1 day ago – via Reuters

Russian law enforcement officials have detained the chairman of power company Quadra , which is controlled by Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, two sources familiar with the situation told Reuters on Wednesday. 1 day ago – via Reuters

Economic trouble is the other huge potential shoe to drop here.

Apparently this trade effectively adds salary since it looks like Thad had a trade kicker.

Bobby Marks ‏@BobbyMarks42

Thad Young has a $3.75m trade bonus that BKN pays. Young cap hit for the Pacers (starting in 2016-17) is 14.1m, 14.7m, 13.7m (P).

So if they are indeed cutting money, that is very good news. They may go the Philly salary floor loophole route. In other words, play most of the season well under the salary floor, then take on money at the very end in order to meet the deadline for hitting the salary floor, while in reality paying well under it. That would cut their FA spending a good bit if so.

My biggest worry was them trading Thadeus for a pick and a Jerryd Bayless type vet that got them a good 4-5 extra wins like he did with us a coupl
e years ago. Trading Thad just for a rookie is absolutely wonderful for us. They are 100% the worst basketball team in the NBA now.
WHAT THEY GON’ SAY NOW? ‎ THANK YOU TRUTH!

And this is why the 2017 nets pick is off the table.

I think the real story here is how Noah put in two years of schooling in less than twenty hours. I am thinking 11/22/63 back door to a small diner perhaps.

I think Lopez's agent is probably trying to get Lopez out of there. These seem mostly like pipe dreams from Nets people that think they are the only team that can get free agents.

I am sure that every single rookie in this draft wouldn't mind going to the Nets because they are almost guaranteed playing time.

From the Woj article on the trade:

Nets general manager Sean Marks has been eager to gather young assets and draft picks, and could still be aggressive Thursday to get another pick in the first round, league sources said.

Marks inherited a franchise devoid of first-round picks and has been determined to gather picks using the assets available on his roster.

I interpret that as Lopez is a total goner if anyone will offer up a first round draft choice for him. Seems pretty clear there.

Ainge probably got a few more phone calls right after that Nets trade. Unfortunately, he's probably not answering right now because it's hard to talk on the phone when you're doing this......

I'm late, but just want to add my thanks to Sean Marks. Only you have the power to fully see through Billy King's vision for the Celtics dynasty.

Andy Vasquez: GM Sean Marks said Nets still undecided on Jarrett Jack’s $6.3 million team option. Nets would owe Jack $500k guarantee if they let him go.

Anthony Puccio: Hearing a lot of Rondo/BKN rumors the past few days. Was told by a source that he’d love to play in NY. Knicks have Rose. #Nets need a PG.

Wouldn't be the worst thing IMO. They are going to sign some guys and he hasn't really lifted a team up since 2012.

Other interesting part is who else is in the race for the bottom. Suns are drafting children and trying to trade vets, they should be atrocious unfortunately.

Lakers maybe a little bounce from ditching Kobe and hopefully not tanking. Silver lining of no stars being moved is it may keep teams like Memphis, Chicago, Dallas etc from cratering if they don't make moves.

Obviously who knows what FA will bring but if the Suns backcourt is healthy they rank as better than the Nets.

I think the PHI/LAL/MIN tanking crop has mostly run its cycle and will all be up a bit (LAL the least) -- Nets are leaders in the clubhouse especially with that Thad Trade WWWOOOOOOTTTT!

PS - all of which is to say the top of the lottery will include a couple of teams hit by injuries that we're not expecting now ala the 97 Spurs.

Rondo would be great. Doesn't solve their issues on the perimeter (both shooting and defense) while eating into their much heralded cap space without improving their ability to win games. RHJ can only cover for so much on defense.

I actually don't really see it though. As a Spurs guy would Marks really go after Rondo just because they need a point guard? Such a move would scream Prokhorov.
