I actually think it can happen despite the ridicule that view attracts.
The ridicule mostly derives from giving up a Nets pick for him.

Sounds like there could still be a deal available.

I'm sure they're still shopping them but the value they're getting offered back is probably like Jarrett Jack and a future 2nd rounder heh

I still feel like a deal around Bradley for Noel could make a ton of sense for Both teams. I love Bradley but I feel like our depth on the wing allows us to make a move to improve our front court like that. Noel would be absolute dynamic on this roster. Bradley would really help Phillys backcourt.
Depending on what we do in Free Agency , this could be a move that goes down later in the summer.

I know he can't shoot, but I feel like Smart is more likely there.
Bradley on a 2-year deal is a pretty trashy deal for Noel.

But when it comes to it, Smart for Okafor or Noel is near-impossible to turn down.
There's also a Sully sign and trade.. We'll see where the needle stops.

That's a ridiculous lowball... I'm a homer, too, but it wont work. By giving up Rozier/Hunter/Young, we basically give up nothing and gain an athletic rim protector, who was a top 5 pick, it's just not happening.
I'd give up Smart and Hunter for Noel. I'm really bothered with Noel's off the court problems and contract situation, tho...20 mils for Noel doesn't sound too good. I'd rather pay Whiteside 20 mils straight up. He's my ideal match for our roster.

Noel was the 6th pick

If yes, and he signs elsewhere, Marc Gasol seems ripe for the taking, and, although old, I think the value could be right, not to mention a great mentor for our bigs. I believe previously rumors with Ainge linking us to him, seems like one of his patented out-of-nowhere moves.

That's why I think Bradley makes a lot of sense for them because, similarly to how the Bucks fanbase is all about trading for Bradley because of Giannis playing point-forward, Simmons will be playing a similar position so you won't need a PG who has to handle the ball all that much. Therefor a guy like AB who has developed a solid jumper and can hit the three fits perfectly at the point since his main deficiency in that regard is ball-handling.
I wouldn't want to be trading AB though. He's too good a role player for us.Marley2Hendrix wrote:Quick Memphis related question: Is Conley a free agent (I believe so)? I've thought a similar thing, but really you'd want to be bringing in a second player who could help make the most of the remaining prime years of Gasol, because at that price (both in terms of salary and what it'd take to get him) you'd want to be competing immediately. Something like Gasol and Butler/KD/Gallo/Love etc. If we could pair Gasol with a scoring wing/PF that'd be great.
Crossy2008 wrote:The problem for trading for Noel is that if Philly can't get a deal done by the trade deadline, then he probably walks for nothing. I mean if Okafor impresses, Simmons is very good, Embiid stays healthy, and Saric show flashes, then there is no way Philly could resign him.
So any team realistically trading for Noel is trading the value of 1 year of service. They get the option to have matching rights too, but that is only valuable if a team thinks that he will be worth the max.
Our trade stash right now consists of Rozier/Hunter/Young/Bos '18 1st/Bos '19 1st/Lac '19 1st.
There has to be enough in there to get Philly to bite.
