Needless cheap shots aside, the Hawks have actually done pretty well in free agency. Millsap and Joe Johnson were both major gets.

Hawks have like the entire Mt Rushmore of great non-max FA signings. Korver, Millsap, Carroll, Bazemore etc.
The teams listed in that article interested in Horford seems a little soft though IMO. RJ wants to play 2-3 more years. That's good to hear. He clearly still has more left in the tank. Lebron rejuvenized his career.

Well it was and it wasn't. If they could have continued to build on what they did 2 years ago I think its possible that a backcourt of Beal/Wall could have been attractive enough to KD to at least get a meeting with him. But they did a really poor job on managing their assets and putting together a more competitive team in place ahead of time.
It almost has the feel that they thought his connections to the area would be enough and that was always foolish thinking.
