I thought the consensus was that your board was regretting this trade. I always wanted us to trade our first for Kieff and was bummed when we traded for D-Mo instead. I think our 1st and Meeks should be a fair trade.
We regretted the trade because we knew it was likely to be a lotto pick involved. We regretted the trade the day it was made. That doesn't mean that Morris hasn't been a pretty decent player for us. If you could get us our #11 pick back, I'd gladly swap Morris for him. But I wouldn't trade him away for a pick in the mid teens.
I sure would. In a minute. Guys who produce at his level are a dime a dozen in the NBA. A #16 pick may or may not turn into an excellent player, that is true. If he does, great. If not, what have you lost? Go to the big pile and pick yourself someone who is as good as Markieff Morris; it's not hard. Ruzious was talking about Andrew Nicholson a few weeks ago. He's better than Morris and will be available for much less. Or Trevor Booker. Or... long list.
